Mix in fevered drum gusts smacking the oomph-o-metre askew, mind-expanding, sci-fi-indebted momentums and a surgical ear for chiseling cutting-edge textures out the deepest deep, and you pretty much get a solid reflection of Audio Unit’s compelling sonic DNA. Hopscotching their way across weatherbeaten 4x4 landscapes, through Bauhausian brutalism and climactic dub divagations, this is techno cut in the silkiest cloth, and primed for total floor obliteration.

No need to introduce LA-based techno legend Drumcell to our cast of RYC fellows, the man’s CV speaks for itself. Hard-hitting and brainy, Drumcell’s signature is one of mixed essence, ruggedly agressive yet endowed with levels of production intricacies and future-facing relevancy that can not but command admiration, as evidenced by his background of top-level efforts for Chris Liebing’s CLR, Blank Code and his own imprint, Droid Recordings. True to his ubiquitous style, Drumcell treats us to a dizzyingly vibrant mix of high-powered, kick-heavy industrial thunder and knee-buckling bass manoeuvres, which promises to have the club door's hinges flying off and the building’s foundations shaken askew. Zeroed in on busting every damn sign of breathing, raving life in its wake.

Psychotherapist by day, mind-hacker by night, here comes Leipzig’s Vincent Neumann with two hours of widely versatile techno and electronics. All in jagged dynamics and hi-NRG propulsion, Neumann’s mix is an ode to old-school raving, back when the DJ’s name was of no importance but the flow of the music itself was all that mattered, or when the true spirit of techno rhymed with riotous communion and a new horizon of possibilities, not some ultra fast-fashion side issue. The result is a fiery jaunt across some of those balls-out anthems old and new that got people converging from all around the country onto secret places, eager to let the socio-political frustration of their age out, regardless of how the norm thought of them. A manifesto-like set to play out loud and share around.
