Canadian born, Berlin based producer @Aquarian debuts on Dekmantel Records’ UFO imprint with Mutations I & II, a series of two EPs following his debut album The Snake That Eats Itself and his collaborative records as AQXDM. The series marks his return to club focused solo material for the first time since 2017.

Originally written as inflection points for his typically boisterous and genre collapsing dj sets, Mutations deftly splices the foundational DNA of his earliest productions — electro, hardcore and broken beat techno – with new and vital influences.

Mutations I: Death, Taxes and Hanger finds Aquarian gleefully contorting mid-2000s dnb tearouts, wrong footed IDM and progressive trance euphoria into thrilling new shapes. Fast techno, hi-tek jazz, amphetamine-addled filter house and breakcore join the fray in Mutations II: Delicious Intent as he pushes intensity levels past breaking point. Whichever the touchstone, the results are clear: distinctly modern, highly-propulsive body music with an unapologetically emotive core.

pi pi pi premiere: Mars Leder - Ride (Warning)

Today we are premiering a fantastic remix work of Warning resident Mars Leder. His flip for 'Six Million Ways To Live' by RANDOM DATA comes out today on fragmented:, young label from Dresden with close bounds to beloved Objekt klein A.

While the original track is a bass-heavy tune driven by a pervasive Eastern synth, Mars Leder's interpretation lifts the vibe with a melodic twist paired with the punchy kick game characteristic for his productions. 

The EP is out today on vinyl and digital, available from Bandcamp and other stores. By buying this release, you are not only supporting a great label, but also the NGO 'Mission Lifeline', who are working tirelessly on sea rescue in the Mediterranean.

It's been a beautiful week in sunny Berlin and we have some more fun for you with another foamy track premiere, from the upcoming Sanctuary Vol.1 V.A on the amazing Bewegungsfreiheit. You may know them from the great soli parties in Berlin, but be prepared for the serious vibes on this upcoming release. Soak in the dope track 'Doors' by one of Berlin's gems, Mars Leder.

It might be a stereotypical phrase, but it’s true in his case: Mars Leder lets the music speak for itself while keeping himself in the background.
