Commanding the highest levels of sonic alchemy, master shaman Woody92 unleashed a masterful session of deep cerebral hypnosis atop the Spanish Pyrnees mountains to close out the second night of Paral·lel Festival 2024. With each track laying down a new piece of the puzzle, Woody intricately assembled together a masterpiece while simultaneously disassembling the minds of the mountain dwellers.  

As the horns signalled the closing of the session and all pieces were perfectly placed the tour de force was complete, leaving the dancers left trying to piece their minds back together.

How can the unfamiliar feel so close? Dookuzot, the debut EP by Floid and W92 (aka Woody92), invites listeners to venture into the echo chambers of the psyche on their Omen Wapta imprint. Like a salvaged coat of arms, this 8-track release weaves the cryptic motifs of the blood brothers into its sonic fabric, blending unease with ease through stealthy rhythms and dissonant harmonies. One a sonic visionary, the other a sound artist—together, they transform decades of shared family history into an imaginary realm of the mind.

Pensive yet commanding, Dookuzot unfolds like a labyrinth, where shadowy corridors give rise to textures, shapes, and fragments of memories that never existed. Are you the hunter, or are you being hunted? Neither tempo nor zeitgeist grounds the EP; instead, it conjures a citadel of sound—an intricate fortification of motion and stillness. Like a medieval quest, Dookuzot sends you into the wilderness, armed with arcane energy, urging you to explore the blurred lines between the familiar and the strange. Yet, as one absorbs the full story, a central motif emerges among the obscure artefacts: brotherhood—evoking a shared yet deeply personal ancestral resonance.

Cryptic, unnerving, and undeniably strange, Dookuzot doesn’t ask you to move—it compels you. With this debut, Floid and W92 draw you into their world, setting the stage for a vision that is both enthralling and forward-thinking.
