Hailing from Bristol, UK, British producer Sam Higgins — or https://soundcloud.com/nuaspect as his more commonly known — is an artist we’ve been championing for a while over here at Selected. Heavily inspired by the early dubstep and UK bass records that took hold of the underground scene in the UK, his diverse discography takes influence from myriad genres across the electronic music spectrum, from Drum and Bass and Bassline all the way through to Future House and Deep Tech.

Since debuting on our YouTube channel back in March 2017 with Things I Said, we’ve been lucky enough to welcome back the burgeoning producer time and time again for a slew of majestic hits including Light, Said To You, What’s In My Head, Run Deep and Something Real. Now, returning to Selected for his first outing of the year, the prolific British talent looks to open his 2022 tally with a bang as he drops his latest musical masterpiece Afterlife.

Joining forces with Philadelphia-based house music artist https://soundcloud.com/jewelsproject (Need You, Paralyzed and Falling With You) and 23-year-old Glaswegian singer-songwriter https://soundcloud.com/magnusuk (Holding On, Paralyzed, Liar and Cool) the three artists converge to deliver a perfectly executed house cut that captivates from the off. Infectious vocal hooks, deep basslines and shuffling rhythms form the backbone of the release, as Nu Aspect, Jewels and MAGNUS pull out all the stops to lay down a warm, emotive deep house anthem that'll live long in the memory.

Prolific, multi-talented musician and singer-songwriter Cammie Robinson is fast becoming a hugely prominent voice in dance music. 

Having written and worked along side a diverse selection of hugely talented artists such as Flux Pavilion, Delta Heavy, J Majik, Bear Grillz, Adventure Club and Pontifexx, the British vocalist has released a multitude of stellar records on some of the biggest labels in the industry, including Sony Music, Universal, Warner, Ultra, Monstercat, Dim Mak and STMPD to name just a few. 

Riding a recent wave of success off the back of her latest single Read My Mind with Reflek on Be Yourself, Cammie now lends her incredible vocal expertise to production duo HRRTZ (Anjunabeats, Armada Music, Good Company), as the three hugely talented artists come together for one of our favourite releases of the year so far—Lighthouse.

Setting the tone with an infectious introductory vocal refrain, Lighthouse radiates emotive, deep house vibes from the off, as HRRTZ & Cammie showcase their collective penchant for masterful melodies and undeniably catchy dancefloor creations. 

Brimming with rousing synth lines, driving percussion and euphoric chord progressions, this one’s out now worldwide and we couldn’t be more excited.

An architect and a rocket scientist with a penchant for creating top quality house music, production partners Philipp and Sebastian - or PALASTIC as they’re more commonly known in musical circles—have been taking the industry by storm since bursting onto the scene back in 2016. 

With over 40 million career streams on Spotify alone and several radio hits in the like of Germany, Austria and Russia, the burgeoning duo has built a solid fan base around the globe following numerous releases on Selected. (Caught In A Dream, Decision, Gemini), Soave (Price, Hate That I Love You, Shooting Star) and Virgin (Goldmine, Life Is Easier) to name a few.

Now, coming together for their eagerly anticipated sophomore collaboration following the release of Gemini back in January, PALASTIC join forces with rising British producer, singer and topliner Sam Welch (Sex on Fire, 3 Nights and Metaphor) for one of the most exciting releases on Selected this year.

Tiga and Hudson Mohawke further their mission to Legalize Compassion with this outstanding set of remixes of their Love Minus Zero collaboration.

With a self-reported emotional IQ of 196 and the dancefloor pedigree of a pure-bred champion clubhound, Tiga and Hudson Mohawke’s Love Minus Zero project offers nothing less than total catharsis in torn dungarees. Their debut album L’Ecstasy delivered on the duo’s promise of “hardcore romance,” even in the eyes of the most hardened hardcore romance purists. And now, LMZ:RMX showcases a dazzling array of styles and sensibilities that will give listeners a musical education tantamount to eight months of crate-digging with The Beat Burglars, or watching that Netflix documentary series where Lin-Manuel Miranda travels to Ibiza to learn more about rock history.

- A test audience confirmed that the remix by Berlin's Quelza of “IN ORDER 2” takes the original “into Berghain territory,” which is an area which includes both the club proper and the fenced-off pen where rejects console one another in the pitiless German moonlight. 

- Many would say Keinemusik is the hottest crew in dance music today, and frankly who has the energy to argue otherwise? To this end, we platonically tapped Reznik to turn “Silence of Love” into the No. 1 Autumn Anthem of 2024, and he did not disappoint. 

- Keepsakes titled his serotonin syndrome-inducing version of “BUYBUYSELL” the “Cynical Vox” mix, but make no mistake: this British-New Zealand DJ-producer/Haven founder has a heart of gold, which shone through in each one of his tender email exchanges with us.

- Storied Techno Texan Audion is in peak form on his remix of “Duro,” which means “hard” in Spanish AND Portuguese. Audiophiles should note that the track was mastered at the vineyard he and Tiga co-own with Bryan Adams.

- On their mix of “IN ORDER 2,” Merry Men of Montreal Priori and Patrick Holland team up as Jump Source and make sweet music deep into the evening time, doing only as Eros commands.

- Hamburg Electro Genius DJ Mell G strips all romance from her mix of “BUYBUYSELL,” favouring a vision of future in which websites are illegal and people “jack in” to landlines to download the latest feelings.

- Finally, the ADJD mix of “Duro” sees Swedish techno legends Alexi Delano and Jesper Dahlback return at last to Turbo’s frigid embrace. You’ve read all about them at the library, now experience their majesty over headphones on the computer at the library.

"We came all the way from heaven to dole out euphoria like it was candy from our pocket,” says a visibly erect Tiga. "Put it this way: when a frown sees us coming down the street, it’s fucking over. We watched these remixers become our Deputy Music Angels before our very eyes, and I can only hope they think that sounds as cool as I know it feels to see."

Low Recordings presents its latest EP, a 12” with two definitive sides recorded by underground fog dwellers, Earth Boys.

Michael Sherburn and Julian Duron’s 15th release is a quintessential eBoys listening experience, where headphones, car stereos and club systems are created equal.

’Cold World E.P.’ gets right to the point with moody locked synth grooves and warm tape noise between two uncomplicated, almost stark melodies, giving any true fan a familiar feeling.

Drums take a back seat, heavy leads swell and vocal samples leap right out of the discount bin—as they always have—Earth Boys maintain a conscious balance between deep feeling, focused production and fun.

Title track ‘Cold World’ is a swirling, ghostly nose dive, with punchy bass hits and an odd looping arrangement designed to get listeners in the zone. A2 ‘Sad Boys’ is a casual, nonchalant, head bobbing drum loop that weaves though Earth Boys’ typical holy trinity of chiller sounds—soft leads, wind instruments and deep bass.

Side B kicks in the doors of the club starting off with ‘In The House’, a subtle yet massive 909 assault, with hard hats, hazy synths and a vintage rolling bass line. ‘Feel So Good’ is another dip into the rich lineage of Earth Boys’ more candy coated tracks such as LSD, I Just Love It, and Be Happy With Who You Are—a proper dance floor number. Let's also not forget the smooth remix that Detroit legend, Rick Wade, throws down.

Overall the EP feels like a brief survey of the New York producers’ musical repertoire, another day, another eBoys record, but as always, freshly rolled joints just hit a little different.
