Wednesday, October 18th 2023 we had the unofficial opening of ADE in the most obscure progressive underground club of Amsterdam, The Shelter of Hearts (if you don't now where it is, you're not ready yet to join...). Where I had the privilege and pleasure to play in a line up of progressive legends who, if they weren't already, became good friends that evening and during all the party evenings that followed during ADE. 

A big thanks to these legends for all the great music and love they shared: Nicolas Rada, Dowden, Clay van Dijk, Alex O'Rion, Gavin & Mattie (GMJ & Matter), Anthony Rhino, Zankee Gulati and Mike Rish🙏🏻❣️

Hello Everyone!! Wednesday has come back round again, and so therefore has this, our exclusive weekly Progcast. Come with us as we travel in search of the best DJ sets we can find, anywhere on Planet Progressive! 

Bringing the sesh back home today, we journey up to the North East of England, and a scene revitalised in recent times. Head of all things good about this revitalisation, please make some noise for our guest today .... RICCO!!

RICCO, also known as Richard Stout, is a talented DJ/Artist hailing from the North East of England. With a career that spans the realms of DJing, music creation, and event promotion, he's a prominent figure in the region's music scene.

In the mid-'90s, Richard embarked on his DJing journey, honing his craft and eventually establishing his own successful night, which enjoyed considerable longevity. 

After a substantial run in the live music scene, Richard hung up his guitar and microphone and rekindled his passion for House music. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in his musical journey, as he graced the stages of clubs and festivals alongside some of the industry's biggest names. Along the way, he co-founded events like "All Things House" in the North East, showcasing his dedication to their electronic music community.

More recently, in collaboration with his good friend Danny Jarvis, Richard played a pivotal role in launching "The Early Doors Club." This early evening event redefines the clubbing experience, allowing enthusiasts to savor the excitement of nightlife while still being home before midnight, preserving the sanctity of their Sunday mornings.

Richard's artistic vision goes beyond the booth. He's a forward-thinking DJ who continually seeks and shares new music, constantly pushing the boundaries of sound. In addition to his DJing prowess, he has embarked on the journey of music production, crafting his tracks that carry his unique musical perspective.

2 months ago I had the great pleasure of playing at one of the most beautiful birthday parties in Amsterdam alongside many great other artists such as DepGlobe, Jaydee, Jelly for the Babies, Bas-F, Rafa, B.O.B, Austin and of course the birthday boys @Laatbloeier and @buddy1966.

2017 Buddy Suwijn JAN FAB HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN Mix

BUDDY SUWIJN is a deep progressive techno DJ based in Amsterdam.

Buddy is born in 1966 in the south of the Netherlands, loved music from a young age, started mixing on decks borrowed from a friend at the age of 16. Electro at the time, picked up the dance music back in 1990. Loves Deephouse, Progressive and Techno. Searching for new sounds all the time. He organized parties in Amsterdam under the name Friends4Friends is a resident DJ for the Recycle Lounge Gallery Club (RLGC44) and was a event organiser for The Promisedland, Friends for Friends and Meetpackers. 

Shared the DJ Booth with Guy J, Eelke Kleijn, Guy Mantzur, Luis Junior, Cid Inc, Dimitri Kneppers, Vince Watson, Danny Howells, John QUIVVER Graham,  Dave Seaman, Erich von Kollar,  Brandstettner,  Jelly for the Babies, Paul Hazendonk, Jaap Ligthart, Fady Ferraye, Angelo D’Onorio, Martin Patino, Tim Engelhart, , Paolo Gambirasi, Mr Milano, ,  Lola Tek, Dmitri Molosh, Arturo Hevia, Alexander Koning , Robin JAYDEE Albers, Rogier, Clay van Dijk, Dennis Price and Andre Zeldenrust. Played at festival Mysteryland, Wooferland, The Promisedland , Electronic Picnic, Mandala festival and Thuishaven Amsterdam. 

Since 2018 Buddy has a residency at Protonradio with his own show INDEEP. 

When Buddy plays he lifts you up, ignites you to dance and transfers you on the Trip to another place we call “The Promised Land“.
