Being a music lover I spend many hours exploring and  listening to other artists. I love the versatility and variety that is out there from so many talented individuals, including those in my own city. When I play live every track, emotion, and feeling has a time and a place which brings me to this collection of songs. It got to the point where I just could not let these beauties sit around any longer. 

My Revelation

This is a fine collection of many different genres and sounds from around the world. I also have two tracks (Got to Have it & Baton Rouge Bounce) from Calgary's own Defunk. This gentleman in the past year has been, in my eyes, the best Glitch-Hop producer out there. I also have some ultra tasty Hip Hop from A State of Mind. If you haven't heard of these guys then you need to go out and purchase Crown Yard. The artwork to this mix has been provided by the gifted eye of Third Eye Arts ( http://www.thirdeyearts.com/#!/index ). His portfolio is absolutely stunning and I am very much hoping to work with this guy very soon.

Westwood Radio 034 - Opiuo (4x4 Mix)

Buffalo Child. Born of the windswept prairies and raised in the air of mountain funk, this country boy sprinkles his Western flair all over the house and disco-infused tunes he proudly broadcasts to the world at large. From his house party roots Mr. Child brings the rowdy - on the right night, you may just find him galloping about a stage in a glow thong. From his refined recent growths, he brings the classy, warm and vintage, silky smooth jams influenced by the tastiest tunes from the very beginnings of recorded music onward. Count Basie sits next to Late Nite Tuff Guy sandwiched between andhim and Justin Martin - a set from Buffalo Child means only one thing for sure, a variety of influences as wide as the brim on his cowboy hat. Which is mighty wide, rest assured.

As his personal dawn of dance music shone brighter, Buffalo Child left the comfortable climes of Canada behind for a trek to the tropical tides of Thailand. As he flew by the seat of his pants on this journey of self discovery, the music followed - bars and clubs were quick to embrace the wobbling bass, the quick n’ dirty drum n’ bass, and most of all the midetmpo glitch hop influenced swing and hip-hop. As he explored the gentle jungles of Thailand, he met DJs and found tunes heretofore unexplored. Horizons broadened. Experience deepened. Soon enough, in a sweaty back room Mr. Child peeked out from his tiny booth and saw them, a thousand strong, dancing in the Full Moon out of his view, but feeling the bass and the rhythm all the same. He was hooked. 

The list of venues, promoters and festivals grows by the year: Shambhala, Astral Harvest, BassBus, Habitat Living Sound, Burning Man, The Dirty Gramophones, Envision, Motion Notion, Rabbits Eat Lettuce. From the humble town of Sylvan Lake, Alberta the Native prince of bassy beats has globe hopped from Costa Rica to Nevada to Australia and back to good ol’ Alberta. If you fancy a dip in the mid tempo glitchy swing, or the smooth and bouncy house, come find Buffalo Child. He’ll show you a thing or two.
