You gotta sweat it up your entire life to earn the right to call your record Grindmaster. Whether you're pulling your life partner in real close and personal on your living room dance floor, or pursuing brain-dead entrepreneurship with every single fibre of your trust fund, The Grind remains an exacting Snake-God, riding humanity face-first into its eternal reward. 

To this end, everyone at Turbo is grateful beyond words that venerable veteran’s veterans Extrawelt are bringing the full bore of their two decades’ experience to bear on this slice of genre-defiling excellence. The German due open with the thorax-pummeling EBM of the title track, followed up by the angry electro of “Angry Elektro.” And if you think the EP lets up from there, keep listening to find out just how wrong what you think is, because the next track is called “Angry Halibut” and sounds exactly what you’re terrified that sounds like. Grindmaster culminates with the goalie-on-acid-fantasy acid banger “Save City” and bottomless warehouse trip-soundtrack “Flunk.” 

Those of you who choose not to support your local record store will be rewarded accordingly, as Extrawelt’s own “Drop Outs in Heaven Remix” of “Flunk” is yours as a digital exclusive. We have no real problem with vinyl lovers but they should probably come to terms with the fact that digital music - and by extension, digital exclusives - is perhaps the defining trend of 2024. You probably know someone with a computer, so maybe they can help you out.

Extrawelt - Flunk

Greta Levska has been on fire of late. Much of her music has come on this label, including her fantastic ‘Ibiza Get Physical’ release earlier in the year. It's a collection packed with her signature forward-thinking sounds, many of them inspired by the White Isle. It is there that she has been a Monday resident for Amnesia Presents all summer while also guesting at Pyramid and Do Not Sleep alongside Maceo Plex, Raxon & more. Following plenty of support across BBC Radio1 from the likes of Sarah Story and Jaguar, she now offers a glimpse of what to expect from her much-anticipated debut album next year.


The brilliant ‘Moulin Krew' is a kinetic electro gem. The bassline is sleazy and twisted, with an old-school feel coming from the stabbed vocals and breaks that are reminiscent of early hip-hop. It's a muscular, full-flavoured sound to liven up any club and more than whets the whistle for the full length to come.

After offering Polychrome a beautiful closing composition on its various artists compilation Reflection EP, Rotterdam live act, producer, and DJ @matadisk returns to the label with LFH-Proxy EP set for release on Friday 27.06

Featuring two original club tracks and their interpretations by producers @eversines and Jopie (@user-335177236) , this project further cements Julian Determann’s singular musical identity while opening it up to new dimensions and patterns.

A1. Life Force Harmonizer (“LFH”) opens the dance by capturing the sweet nostalgia experienced during club morning hours. Mata Disk’s sound palette is here in full display, the energy carried by sharp drum design and a propulsive bassline is lifted by melodious pads offering the track its tenderness. On the B1, Rotterdam producer Jopie creatively re-imagined these feelings, stripping down and reshaping LFH onto a track flirting with breaks and IDM progressions.

With Proxy, Mata Disk dims the light slightly, with a drum workout track to keep the dance alive. The very progressive and low-end focused build-up paired with a tension-building synthesized lead offers the A2 track a smooth build-up. De Lichting member Eversines elegantly switches the sound narrative, transforming Proxy into a dark electro-leaning tech house track carrying the same tension. Adding emotion into the mix with an anthemic melodic lead, Eversines’ Proxy Ziggo Mix serves as a perfect closer.

Resident on Noods Radio with his monthly show Bodañ, Speechmaker is also co-founder of
the Ethos Records label alongside Eendracht, with whom he hosts Oratio on Retreat Radio.
An active member of the Rennes-based association ÖND, he contributes as a DJ and
programmer to the RadiÖND programme on Egregore Radio. He has performed at festivals
such as Astropolis and Ethereal Decibel, and has played in several clubs in the West of
France.

Speechmaker draws inspiration from a wide range of sounds, from electro to broken beats,
bass, techno, downtempo, ambient, rap, grime, and more. Above all, he seeks to surprise
and captivate, alternating between texturally rich tracks and bold choices. A silence can
interrupt a set to capture attention, followed by a powerful groove that sets the dancefloor
ablaze.

Refusing to define himself by a single style or set formula, he navigates between tempos
and emotions, fast or slow, dark or exhilarating, controlling energy with a precision that
leaves listeners intrigued and transported. Always on the move, he fashions a sound
language all his own, designed to trigger strong emotions and open up new perspectives.
