Artist Biography: BG Dotty formally known as D.O.T (Definition of Truth)

The East Coast is heavily renowned for producing some of the most lyrically-inclined artists when it comes to the Hip-Hop genre.  There is a well-seasoned artist that is vastly capturing the ears of listeners on a national level, known as D.O.T (Definition of Truth).

D.O.T hails from Massachusetts and began his musical quest around the age of 12, under the inspiration of his two brothers.  He grew up as an avid poet that wrote about nearly everything that entered his mind.  Unbeknownst to him, boredom would spawn a different path that would eventually lead to a career in music.  

Two years later, the rising star was ready to pursue music wholeheartedly.  The 14 year old high school freshman linked up with ATL aka Slick and his brother Country aka  Brendo.  The two owned a studio and was experienced at mixing and mastering tracks. 

“The first track I laid down was a diss track to this group called, The Horseman. My brother stacks had beef with them. So instead of bringing it to the streets, I wrote a verse about them,” he said.

D.O.T laid the foundation for his buzz by releasing two successful mixtapes, “Still Pullen Ova time” and “Still Pullen Ova time 1.9: Slime Life Haters”.  Part one of the series was influenced by the street life that he once lived.  The latter is directed mainly towards a party crowd.  He also released popular singles such as: “Confidence”, “We Made It”, “Franco Vanucci”, and an EP entitled, “Myself”.

One of his most notable accomplishments is using music as a means to transform his life.  He led a real fast life that resulted in incarceration beginning at the age of 14 years old. Though he had his share of mishaps, his will to succeed is impeccable.  He is now in a position mentally, physically, and emotionally to where he can be a viable asset in today’s music market.

The passionate young artist is registered with BMI as a songwriter and also owns a music publishing company, Hooliganz Music.

D.O.T is currently recording two new mixtapes.  One is a compilation-style project that will feature a host of remixes from previous recordings and the latter will be strictly trap music.  He is also in the process of recording a new LP and EP.  The plans that he has doesn’t stop with creating music but extends over to entrepreneurship-as he is in the process of launching his own record company.
