Nice Up! Records are excited to present brand new remixes of one of the most popular tracks from Mr Benn's album 'Shake A Leg'. 'Stand Up', which features vocals from Nanci Correia (Congo Natty, Nanci & Phoebe), was co-written by Ben and Nanci and is a perfect slice of pop tinged reggae. Despite being small in stature, Correia has an unexpectedly massive voice, which she clearly demonstrates on this track!

Remixes come from a variety of camps - first up UKHH legend Daddy Skitz beefs up the beats for a reggae/hip hop killer featuring an additional verse from Bristol's Buggsy. Next up, a name that is hot on everyone's lips at the moment - Ghost Writerz strip the track back to a minimalist pulse until the jungle drums drop. Hotly tipped newcomers NinetyFive up the tempo for a jumping UK house banger whilst another hotly tipped name Dead Belly serve up a garage inspired bubbler.

"Our guest mix this week comes from our friends up north in Sydney town, the ever impressive duo known as What So Not. Comprised of two already very established individuals, Emoh Instead and Flume, What So Not have been long favourites of us here at The Ripe and so it is with great pleasure we can present 30 minutes of infectiously danceable tunes hand picked and exclusively mixed by the lads.

First making big waves with their debut EP 7 Dollar Bill last year, What So Not have since grabbed the attention and admirations of names around the globe, such as Diplo, Boys Noize and Switch. Their tunes have gathered hundreds of thousands of soundcloud plays, been spun on BBC 1, released on Mad Decent and been official remixes for the Likes of Major Lazer, Van She and Parachute Youth. Not a bad resume for two dudes only making music together since 2010.

Now as they head around Australia as party of the triple j House Party National tour (due to hit Melbourne this Thursday), along with side acts like Nina Las Vegas, Beni, Deacon Rose and Flume, the boys have still managed to find the time to put together their Ripe Guest mix, comprising of their favourite tunes at the moment.

The 30 minute mix is jammed packed with What So Not’s signature 808 heavy, Tribal beats as well as a showcasing of tunes they’ve been playing recently across a range of names and genres such as Trap, House and Hip Hop. The massive, very danceable track selection is mixed through at a frantic pace, and shows just why What So Not’s live shows are gaining a reputation as very loose affairs.

Fred V & Grafix, the dynamic duo from Devon, present their debut solo single on Hospital. “Goggles” is a four-track EP featuring the full spectrum of their sound. The “Goggles” EP is fresh, fun and jam-packed with exciting, dancefloor-driven beats that should excite and unite D&B fans for 2013.

With its unassuming bleep intro, “Goggles” will no doubt take some by surprise with its subterranean sounds as bubbling bass and intricate arpeggios develop into the kind of aquatic frenzy you won't have witnessed since doing 50 metres butterfly at school. But wait, “Games People Play” ups the ante with a more recognisable Fred V & Grafix aesthetic - full of polished vocal glow, warm atmospherics, punchy drums and live guitar from Fred Vahrman himself.

Returning to a stripped back, contemplative tone and we have “Denmark Road” with its shimmying soundscape, shuffling breaks and murmuring Calibre-esque sweeps. Beware the epic “Basilisk” awaiting at the end of the EP. This monster has a hypnotizing intro, then bites deep, with a drop dominated by dense, contorting synth work. Awesome.
