Certified Jackin was formed in 2011 with the intention of taking the big-bass “jackin house” sound that was taking over the North of England and the Midlands and deliver to a wider audience. This was achieved via a simple YouTube channel which quickly, and slightly unexpectedly, became a massive success, harnessing close to 100,000 subscribers and over 25 million views. The sound we delivered was greatly received throughout the United Kingdom and across the globe.
 
Over the following years, we helped promote and intensify the early careers of well-respected artists who featured heavily under the CJ name. Artists such as Hannah Wants, Chris Lorenzo and of course, our head honcho: ILL PHIL, amongst many others. Their meteoric rise through the music scene has, along with other artists and DJs brought underground House music to the forefront of the dance music world, specifically the ‘Jackin’, ‘Bass’ and ‘Tech House’ genres.
 
We host events across the United Kingdom, mainly at the prestigious Lightbox in London where we have hosted some of the best in the business: Endor, The Wideboys, Tom Bull, Rich Pinder, Skapes, Martin Ikin and others. We have taken Certified to Dublin with Tom Zanetti, Tom Garnett and Nick Hannam. We’ve also graced Tank in Sheffield, Insomnifest in Leeds, Manchester, Rotherham, Maidstone and Dover.
 
ILL PHIL’s world-famous Mixtapes have amassed millions of plays on SoundCloud and our debut album ‘Certified Jackin: Underground House Music’ cracked the Top 10 of the iTunes dance chart in mid-2014.
 
Our sound has naturally changed over time, but our values remain the same. We aim to deliver high energy, feel good, bass-laden house music with a twist. Full frontal, underground beats.

‘Ezza’ or Erik Bamford is a 18 year old DJ/Producer from Stockport UK who specializes in Garage/Jungle production and DJ’s genres like garage, bassline, dubstep, jungle and many more

Being brought up in a musical household Erik has always loved music but never known what he wanted to persue, he started off very young playing the guitar but fell out of love with it soon after. Later in high school whilst experimenting and starting to produce music Erik took GCSE music in hopes to further his knowledge and craft in the vast world of production after achieving top grades for his composition and recreation of songs from the likes of Bruno Mars, Erik went on to study Djing and music production at the manchester college where he found many likeminded people who loved music and started his DJ journey at 16. With no prior experience in DJing other than his father having used to DJ across the UK in his uni days Erik amassed a total of 4 gigs across his first college year at the likes of popular manchester clubs Band on the Wall and Kable. 

Being taught by the legend that is Mark XTC Erik quickly learnt skills and techniques that takes others years to learn and is a very skilled DJ for his age and how long he has been spinning. 

In the coming years Erik hopes to become a household DJ name doing gigs across manchester and further into doing gigs around the UK and the world whilst also improving his production skills to a point where he can play and produce a wide variety of genres at gigs and also play his own production at these gigs.
