the latest by Anja Schneider and guest vocalist Parsifal Marin of Brussels Pony Club.

Named after the signature Larry Heard tune that introduced the world to “Jack,” the track is the latest by DJ/producer/radio host/label head Schneider to pay homage to the Chicago greats, following last spring’s Ron Hardy-inspired “Hey,” which became an instant fave when Anja dropped it at the always in demand Mobilee rooftop parties in Barcelona. Expect the same response in summer 2014, when “Can You Feel It,” and flipsides “Dubmission” and “Revolution,” hit the ears of sun-kissed partiers worldwide.

Rewind: 1989. Germany is enjoying its own summer of love. Thick waves of acid house wash every oompah band out of every sleepy German hamlet and a hazy season of heady parties ensues. West and east united by vibe, it was the starter course for the reunification feast the followed later that year.

According to German rave legend, the south eastern town of Halle was home to the finest of raves. Many of which were hosted by Opa Herbet. Super Flu Felix's grandpappy, and Monaberry's number one mascot, Herbert - aged 50 at the time - was renowned around town as THE key player in the acid house movement.

You see he wasn't just a savvy promoter, but also a deeply spiritual gentleman. He knew his grandson would fulfil a rich dance music destiny, he knew his family would create and contribute to the life-affirming world of house music. So he set up Monaberry, a label in waiting for his future generations.

An insightful fella, especially for his age, he knew Monaberry would enjoy unique success. He knew they would develop a firm pact of like-minded creative souls. He knew they'd host endless global parties, develop an extensive repertoire of beautiful, emotive, tech-laced house and enjoy the full support from A-list DJs. Having become a member of the Moon Harbour agency and label family recently, Germany's mysterious Sable Sheep is back with a new four track EP that continues to explore his trademark tribal tinged tech house sound with great panache.  Sable Sheep is no stranger to success given the widespread deployment of his previous tracks like 'Painting My Fur', and that's a good job, because all of his latest missives are sure-fire dancefloor dynamite.

Upon Burning Skies is the opening track, and one that builds and builds in tension to an invisible peak that will have ravers on the edge of their feet as the tribal male chanting acts like a call to action above bouncing, buoyant kick drums and slick percussive details.  A dub version is also included in the package.

Torn To Pieces is another full-blooded groove that will lock you in from the very first rubbery kick and silvery hi hat ringlet. As they roll on next to each other without any friction at all, a knotted bassline and deft little synth stabs add some detail as a warm wind seems to howl in the background. Its stripped back but fills the airwaves and is the sort of physical track its impossible not to get carried away by.

Finally, Thy Suffer is another warm concoction of sound that Sable Sheep fills with rattling drum hits and sandy shakers. Some twitching alien sounds suggest the presence of life amongst the machines and the deep looping kicks help draw you in.

An EP produced with great precision restraint, Sable Sheep knows just how much to add into the without over doing things or allowing things to get stuck in a rut -- it's a perfect balancing act that is designed for maximum impact on the dancefloor.
