I had a phenomenal time at my first Love Burn in Miami last week and absolutely thrilled that the highlight of my week playing at 2 hour Bass House & Tech House set at The Freakeasy's Kitty Kat Island on Friday night was recorded!  What an amazing feeling to rock a packed dancefloor full of my Bay Area crew and new fans from far and wide under a giant geometric cat with freakin' laser beams shooting out of its mouth!  Hope you can feel the HEAT (both literally and figuratively) when listening to this mix. Thanks to Radiohiro for having me play and for building such an awesome production. N2N commands the room, taking the audience on a euphoric journey through genres and energies in this steaming hot set. 

Over the last five years, N2N has become broadly recognized for his blistering marathon sets fueled by infectiously energetic house music. In 2018, he was mentioned by Billboard in its list of the nine best sets from Burning Man, and the year prior he had the opportunity to perform for a global audience in New York’s Mixmag Lab. A lifelong student of music, his sets seamlessly blending genres have become crowd favorites across the country. In the studio, his versatility shines through, as his groovy feel-good style landed him major label signings with flips of Jackson 5’s ABC and AXSHN’s cover of Khalid’s Location. His gospel-powered collaboration with LEFTI, Juice, has received support from the world’s biggest DJs, including Fatboy Slim, Mark Knight, and Martin Garrix. He has been remixed by global household names Sharam Jey and Kyle Watson, as the latter’s massive take on his darkly haunting “Mistress” has garnered millions of plays across platforms as well as national radio support. 2022 sees N2N land a slew of releases on Glasgow Underground, starting with a high octane collaboration with Golf Clap, 'Hot Steppin.' Beyond the decks, Nick has become an outspoken advocate for mental health and suicide awareness. A survivor himself, he hopes to use his platform to break down the stigma associated with depression and encourage others in similar situations to speak freely in a time heavily dictated by external appearance. In his spare time, you’ll find him tending to his gargantuan plant collection or whispering sweet nothings to his cats Bucket & Shoe.

Burning Man 2024 Sunrise Set

This week on the RIPEcast, Space Cowboys welcome back Smoove to the Bay Area.

Back in Y2K era San Francisco, there was a trend amongst the uber cool restaurants where  - as part of the dining room ambience - you would often find a DJ mixing live during dinner service. It was here, spinning vinyl all night propped up at the end of the bar, in this bastion of late 20th century California fusion cuisine I found my entrance into the fantastical wonderland that is the Bay Area DJ community. And it was here where I first encountered the Space Cowboys. 

The subsequent years featured a significant increase of the color orange into my wardrobe, Halloween undergrounds, a Unimog, breakbeats (so. Many. Breakz!) renegades in Golden Gate Park, that thing in the desert, decompression/recompression, Love parades, rhinestones, Martha, NewsBreakz, heartbreakz.  And yes, a New Year’s Day sunrise party. 

It was a glorious time to be alive 

So I think it’s fitting my first time back at BOC in *this many* years was the 25th anniversary.  I was hella psyched to be on this years line up because, if I’m being perfectly honest, I have missed you all. Spinning this set was a true joy and it was an honor to be back with the original crew.

RIPEcast Smoove - Breakfast of Champions '25

This set has been in development for a long time. Originally arranged for 2024 campout season, it was shelved for nearly a year. More tracks were acquired and integrated in 2025, abd a bunch that were originally in didn't make the final cut. I've been taking some time off from DJing while learning to play guitar and pursue other creative outlets, but I felt the inspiration to dust off the decks and finally get this set finished.
