A little girl and her mother are so poor that they cannot afford to feed themselves and often go hungry. One day, whilst collecting firewood in the forest, the little girl comes upon an old woman and shows her an act of kindness by collecting her firewood for her. To repay her, the old woman gives her a magic pot that will boil as much porridge as the girl could wish. It will only start and stop boiling with the magic words.

The little girl’s mother decides to make some porridge. But alas! she cannot remember the words to stop the pot from boiling. Soon porridge fills the house and runs out through the door…..

The Magic Porridge Pot

A poor shoemaker has just enough leather left to make one pair of shoes. He cuts the leather out and goes to bed, ready to begin stitching in the morning. Imagine his surprise when he wakes the next day to find a fine pair of finished shoes standing on his workbench! The same thing happens the next day, and the next……….The shoes are so exquisite that they sell out immediately and the shoemaker finds himself poor no longer.
One evening the puzzled shoemaker and his wife stay awake to see just who is helping to make the beautiful shoes. They see two little elves  in threadbare clothes, stitching away quickly and gracefully. They decide to pay back the kindness shown to them and make some fine new clothes for the little elves. The little elves are thrilled.They no longer come back to the shoemaker’s workshop, but he now has enough money to continue making the shoes himself. He no longer has to worry about being poor and he and his wife live contentedly for the rest of their lives.

The Elves and the Shoemaker is a timeless tale that reminds us all about the importance of showing kindness to others and helping those in need.

The Gingerbread Man

Three little pigs set off into the big, wide world to earn their fortune. On their way they each meet a man carrying either straw, sticks or bricks. The first little pig builds his house of straw. Before long the big, bad wolf comes along and in a huff and a puff he blows the straw house down and gobbles up the little pig. The second little pig builds his house of sticks. Again, the big bad wolf blows the house down and eats the pig. The third little pig, however, has built his house of bricks. No matter how hard he tries, the wolf cannot blow the house down. So he comes up with some other cunning ways to try and catch the piggy. Time after time the clever little pig escapes the big, bad wolf. When the angry wolf tries to climb down the pig’s chimney, he meets a rather untimely end.

The Three Little Pigs

The town of Hamelin was suffering from a rat infestation, a piper dressed in multicolored ("pied") clothing appeared, claiming to be a rat-catcher. He promised the mayor a solution to their problem with the rats. The mayor, in turn, promised to pay him with gold coins for the removal of the rats. The piper accepted and played his pipe to lure the rats into the river where they all drowned.
Despite the piper's success, the mayor reneged on his promise and refused to pay him the full sum…

The Pied Piper of Hamelin

Three bears live in a little house on the edge of a wood. One morning Daddy Bear makes porridge for the family. The porridge is too hot, so the three bears decide to take a walk before breakfast. Whilst they are out, a little girl called Goldilocks comes to the house.

Goldilocks is a very curious little girl and, upon finding the door unlocked, decides to take a look around the house. She finds the three bowls of porridge on the table and tastes them. One is too hot, one is too cold and the other is just right and she gobbles it all up. Feeling tired and full, Goldilocks heads into the living room and decides to have a little rest in one of the chairs. First she tries the big one, but it is far too big for her. The middle-sized one is also too big. The small one is just right - until it breaks and sends her falling to the floor with a thud! Up in the bedroom she tries out the beds. Daddy Bear’s big bed is too hard. Mummy Bear’s  middle-sized bed is too soft, but Baby Bear’s small bed is just right.
