The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Oliver. The London-based DJ and producer's sound lies sound lies at the intersection between Post-Punk, EBM, Darkwave, Industrial and Rave. Cutting his teeth at London's warehouses and clubs, he is also emerging as a great producer, with his debut EP, ‘Knuckle Love’, released in late 2020 on St. Petersburg’s, Mosaique Records. Armed with remixes from Colombia’s Filmmaker and newly formed LANDER (one half of Years of Denial + Claus Fuss), the EP personifies the alternative space Gibson operates in.

Coming up he's also got a release on Oraculo and today we are thrilled to host this killer set which perfectly puts his sound in focus.

Low Tide aka Húmedo es el encargado de esta entrega que viene en clave de Electro. Pero el Electro no siempre fue su seña de identidad y es que Alex Robles ha indagado en infinidad de estilos.

Low Tide comienza a sumergirse en la cultura electrónica de Barcelona de 1992, siendo un chaval estilos como el EBM y el Trance marcan sus pasos de baile, para más adelante dirigir su atención hacia el House, Techno, Ambient, Minimal, Electro, Italo Disco o Synth Wave.

En el 2000, completamente atrapado por el House más groovero funda con otros compañeros La Fresca Group, realizando multitud de eventos por Barcelona y alrededores, donde también tienen cabida sonidos Techno y Minimal. En ese ciclo musical llega a editar en Eardrum records y Random Fucktion.

Low Tide tuvo presencia en multitud de salas, festivales y raves, dentro y fuera de Catalunya: El Row, Space, La Cova, KGB, Owen, Macarena Micro Club, Sala Roja (Badajoz), Aban Festival (Badajoz) son algunos sitios donde ha hecho sudar al personal, también ha girado discos en la rave (a la que le guarda mucho cariño) Graujaus Festival o el Technodrome de la Nevera de Bogatell (Poblenou).

Como veis Low Tide es un ser muy inquieto, en constante aprendizaje y con una actitud generosa hacia la escena que le rodea, recientemente creó Radioactive, una plataforma de divulgación musical mediante la emisión de streamings con actuaciones de multitud de artistas del Underground barcelonés y donde hermana 2 proyectos, uno propio, Local Scene Exposed, y TVinyl Family, este último además aportando el lugar para las emisiones, TVinyl Records Shop & Distribution, convirtiendo la tienda así en punto de encuentro para mentes curiosas.

Actualmente Low Tide se siente muy cómodo en el Electro, pero también en otros estilos donde los sintes tienen un papel muy importante, muestra de ello son los eventos que organiza con cierta regularidad en Barcelona, Follone Follone, donde la irreverencia y la diversión van de la mano con sonidos retro en clave Disco, Synthwave o Electro.

Pablo Cubeiro, multifaceted artist and cultural promoter 2.0, is the co-founder of Fanzine Records. Through this field of action, he has been working for years on a central objective: to make the rich and heterodox Galician electronic scene visible. 

From its tentacles, his facet as promoter and co-director of the record label arises, pillars behind which an educational work is also sustained, through the Fanzine production academy, inaugurated in March 2020.

Simultaneously to his work as a fundamental member of Fanzine, The Panic Room is the receptacle behind which Pablo Cubeiro also explores his musical concerns, nourished by a powerful ambition to isolate the purity of sound and cross it in a direction that goes from the liturgy of funk rhythm to ambient hypnotic abstraction. Along the way, it is not difficult to find open doors to Jazz, House, Techno, Electro and every binary reverberation of cybernetic idiosyncrasy in musical textures. 

Through such a chromatic sonic imaginary, he shapes his technical skills and shakes the frightened mentality of our days by means of musical formulas perpetrated to break the simplistic dynamics of the photocopy-days we live in. And he also draws us through his vocation as a photographer, through which, as Pablo himself defines: "What I like is not to shoot the lights, but to shoot the shadows".

Through this search for the hidden part of the object, images emerge constructed from the mind of an artist connected to a transversal love of machines and the possibilities they offer, whether from sound or image. Duality that, as an ultimate goal, governs the creative orbit of The Panic Room.
