Hiding his talent in the shadows of Bavarian spruce trees and grey Berlin facades, Karlheinz secretly refined his production skills and is about ready to take you on a musical journey. 

Starting his musical career by learning how to play the guitar as a kid, he made his first appearances as a guitarist in a local death metal band back in his home town in rural Bavaria. 

After moving to Berlin for his studies around 2008 and making his first steps on the dance floors of About Blank, Karlheinz quickly wanted to find out more about producing electronic music himself.

His never-ending curiosity and love for experimentation can be found across his own creations, which don’t always follow the norm and can hardly be put into any box. A mindset heavily influenced by Jazz music, which is reflected in most of his productions and becomes visible in form of grooving baselines and funky guitar riffs.

 Until now, Karlheinz kept his musical compositions his very secret, exclusively sharing them with his close inner circle by playing live sets for house parties and small private events.   However, learning about advanced music techniques and sound synthesis during his master degrees, his sound became more and more refined and the peer pressure to share his music with a wider audience became so big that he could no longer resist.

 We are thrilled to announce Karlheinz debut release on Loser Records and as his principle of „Never take yourself too serious“ could not fit any better, there is only one thing left to say:

A 12” filled to the brim with talent, Schrödinger’s Box have collected three juggernauts of wave tainted electronics for the latest. Dmitry Distant teams up with Norwell for a partnership of serious intent. The pair deliver a trio of blackened tracks, opening with the ghoulish caverns of “Transient State” before the long shadows, acid stains and painful echoes of “Visionary.” The duo venture into brighter territory with the computer funk of “On A Verge of Veil”, crisp beats and bubbling melodies changing the tone. Following Beyond the War, Cute Heels returns to occupy the flip. The Colombian is immediately on it with the swirling mirrors of “Kuriyaki Horizons,” a kick drum offering solid footing in this entrancing piece. An aloof, yet alluring, disco hook takes hold for “Litua”, a low thump keeping time. The finale arrives with the clipped industrial gait of “Determinated In Order.” Marching to a military beat, this work is industrial inspired with Cute Heels keeping a close ear to the pressure release gauge.

Panthera is a mysterious figure, and that’s how they plan to keep it. Arriving at the Bordello in a veil of secrecy, the four tracks of Synthesizer Hits do the talking for this unknown artist; and you better believe this music has something to say. The gloriously uplifting “Eurodrink” opens. Beaming bars border on pure elation and sullen sorrow, a tight drum keeping time in this space opera soundtrack. That same line of joy and sadness is maintained in the considered and reflective “20000” with its distant words and epic synthwork. “Bra” melts the pulsating energy of disco with complex percussions while a future vision melody descends. Don´t confuse radio silence with inactivity. The music might not have been flowing, but the plans were at Schrodinger´s Box HQ. And finally, after a shedload of work; we´re back to the music. Anton Maiovvi is well known in the right circles. This Bristol born soundtrack virtuoso, italo disco savant and all round electronic guru has travelled labels far and wide with his smorgasbord sound. And that variety is plain to hear on Will to Powder. From the epic opener of “Clocks”, Maiovvi leads you through his labyrinthine hall of shapes and sounds. Expect warming melodies, cold beats, shimmering synthwork, brazen experimentation, a decent dollop of slasher scores and a pinch new wave romance in this. Undoubtedly his most diverse album to date.
