Christopher Ray Hunnicutt is a bassist, singer/songwriter, guitarist, ukulelist, drummer/percussionist and pianist, based out of Wisconsin with a depth of experience in performance, studio recording, teaching & music business/marketing.

​Beginning to flourish as a bassist at the early age of 15, and a decade of vocal performance experience, he began to perform live with bands of all varities & age ranges, as a part of local & national touring acts. A few years later, after great deliberation, he accepted the invitation to Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he would eagerly chase his Bachelor of the Arts in Electric Bass Performance ('07) under the careful guidance of Paul Ousley, Anthony Cox & Terry Burns. During his tenure at Augsburg, Christopher was exposed to many different aspects of study, such as comprehensive courses in music theory training, jazz/classical music studies, jazz/classical composition, music history, and many trades of music business. In addition to this, he was also a long-standing member of the Augsburg College Jazz/Gospel Praise Band & Augsburg Choir, and served as a private music theory tutor to many of his peers. As the primary motivator behind the revitalization of jazz improvisation  & electric bass programs that are still currently in use at Augsburg University today, he's always shown a deep pursuance toward the advancement, embodiment, endowment & continued curation of the arts. After his departure from school, he began heavily hitting the infamous Minneapolis Funk/R&B/Jazz scene for over 13 years, and tried to help develop & enrich the beautiful tapestry that is Minneapolis music.

 Christopher's diversity as a musician is a testament to his appearances throughout parts of the United States, with his musical roots being found in funk, soul, rhythm & blues, jazz fusion, rock, reggae & hip-hop, one might be surprised that he has also been a vital part of country, blues, metal, punk & progressive rock conglomerates as a bassist, guitarist, vocalist & pianist. A fortunate happening indeed.... The Fortuitous formed in the Fall of 2011 when the four core members of a regionally touring reggae/funk band decided to take their musical expression to a higher level. Fusing elements of rock, blues, funk, jazz, soul, samba, reggae, and electronic music, the sound emitted by the quartet finds its way to the core of nearly every listener as it balances between the comfortably familiar and the intriguingly neoteric. Even though The Fortuitous is a fresh name, members Alexander Olsen (keys/vocals), Matthew Summers (guitar/vocals), Tanner Farmen (drums/vocals), and Dan Finch (bass/vocals) are well accustomed to sharing large stages and traveling long distances with their numerous other projects.

This music is all born out of a dedication to a life of spiritual science, the living of a reverent and respectful life in accord with a spirituality of no name that informs all others known. I asked the angels of the lord to make me into a musician. I did  not study. I did not learn. I did not practice, in the sense most mean. I did not take any lessons. I did not pay attention to what I was doing when I was doing it...

These songs have not been edited. There has never been any more than one take. They are provided to me to provide to you proof that there is a spirituality of great power that stands with priority over the lost men's notions of God. The adoption of a philosophically consistent life, dedicated to principles far beyond, above and before the little minds of smaller men. Without regard to, concern for, restraint by, or conception within the world of mankind, the artist seeks much more than to make music in this world. He seeks to help it to be all it can be, each person, each family, each community, each city, state, each nation. This is done with an honest mind tied to an earnest heart. It can be done by most, and it brings with it many many gifts that will long outlive the body. 

Formed late 2012 out of Sioux Falls, SD, Earthway Four is the Midwest's new Alternative to Psychedelic music, Blending elements of Jazz, Funk, Alternative Rock/Pop, and Experimental Music.


Marked by their high-energy, all-instrumental performances, New Sound Underground has become a must-see band in the Minneapolis music scene. The band stands out with all original songs, engaging arrangements and exhilarating live shows. Drawing inspiration from a wide array of styles including funk, jazz, fusion, rock, soul, R&B, and gospel, the band released its debut self-titled album in 2013, a year in which they also went on to play the Telluride Jazz Festival. This success has allowed the band to perform at prominent venues including First Avenue (Minneapolis), The Dakota Jazz Club (Minneapolis), The Twin Cities Jazz Festival ('13,'16), and Prince's renowned "Paisley Park: After Dark" series.
 
In 2014, New Sound Underground partnered with the legendary venue First Avenue in Minneapolis to start a new concert series called "Funk on First" and held well attended shows that included great local bands from the up-and-coming funk/fusion/jazz scene in the Twin Cities. New Sound Underground was voted "Best Jam Band of 2015" by the Twin Cities local paper City Pages. In March of 2016, the band partnered with Last Triumph's annual Take Off Tour to SXSW in Austin, TX.
 
New Sound Underground will release its second album this Summer entitled Push and continues to captivate audiences with their original sound.

OK, so theres lots of punk rock/metal crap on here. Just leaving those on until I make more recordings that are more representative of my current musical tastes. Gotta start somewhere. Same goes with the 'beats' and stuff. Anyway if you're here you should check out the two people I am following--Beatnik Supers and Garrett Holtz. I am in a band with these dudes and they are both super-talented. I mainly play electric guitar, but I dabble in bass, drums, and keyboards as well. There ya have it!
