Yulia Niko returns to Watergate Records with a trio of tracks showing the varied sides of her musical personality.

The Russian-born, Berlin-based artist first debuted on the label in October 2020 with the excellent 'Manifesto' EP. A year on and she’s exploring more experimental avenues thanks to the extra time and introspection the last 18 months have afforded.

The 'Rave Girl' EP is a colourful exploration into Niko’s musical mind. The title track was inspired by a reallife dialogue between two friends, and is a ripping dancefloor-orientated cut with a wicked acid underbelly.
'Fever' is a snaking groover, driven by a submarine-deep bottom-end and inky melodic flourishes. 'The Only Dream' found life from a jam session the producer had with the kalimba. The result is a dreamy breakbeat offering that sets the mood just right. An essential for any warm up set.

Regular collaborators Andrew Rasse, aka Butane, and Italian DJ/producer Riko Forinson’s ongoing catalog of work continues to build, as the pair shape a deep well of quality productions across the house and techno spectrum. After a recent span of releases via Tenampa Recordings, Fuse Records, Little Helpers, and Bar 25 Music, the duo return home to Rasse’s Extrasketch imprint and reveal their ‘Mind Music’ EP to close March.

‘Hunting The Music Of The Mind’ opens the EP with a combination of signature tripped-out vocals, spiralling synths and rich natural drum licks, offering up a hazy slice of the deepest house music. ‘In The Desert’ veers into lighter, brighter, organic territories, fusing an airy Rhodes-style melody with rolling percussion and hypnotic-yet-familiar vocal work to close the show.

Release thirty-two on Manjumasi presents a variety of reinterpretations of last year’s vinyl release Instant Transmission, from label founder atish together with Vridian.

A broad selection of remixers showcases the variety of sounds and styles that find a home in atish’s sets and in the Manjumasi label catalog. First up, Map.ache offers a groove-driven smooth and floaty remix of Touch & Go, well balanced with intricate details.

Next up, Mihai Popoviciu & Markus Homm do what they do best, putting some dance floor heat on Instant Transmission with a super-sturdy bassline groove and dubby textures floating over the mix.

Fast-rising Japanese producer boys be kko turns in two melodic mixes,with the Sanya Mix featuring a ripping unique synth lead, and the Yanagi Edit focusing on the deeper side of the groove and textures. iO Mulen takes things in a unique direction with a breakbeat-infused remix that mixes throwback elements with edgy modern sound design.

Finally, Indian producer Kohra wraps up the package with a late night interpretation, dark and dub-infused with molten metallic textures.

Following recent outings on Aus Music, Rejected and Knee Deep In Sound, Steve Bug returns to his own Poker Flat Recordings for his first solo release on the label since 2021's Montafon. 

Despite maintaining a prolific release and remix schedule, it's been quite some time since we've been treated to a pure, unadulterated Steve Bug original on Poker Flat. 

So we're very pleased to present Alto Adige: a fantastically deep and typically meticulous two-tracker set to scratch that particular itch. 

Alto Adige is a patient slow-burner, kicking off with a muted synth line that gradually opens up as the track progresses, building to a deeply satisfying crescendo in the break. 

Trentino is similarly minded, with the addition of rising strings and a beautifully epic synth lead adding even more drama to proceedings.

**[RADIO EMBARGO] NO LISTED RADIO PLAY BEFORE DAY OF RELEASE PLEASE**  A few minutes after arriving in the beautiful city of Marracech to play The Wild Jam Festival, Moroccan Duo Wahm spotted the dOP boys tucking into their Tajines and decided to introduce themselves. This chance encounter triggered a natural bond. So fast in fact, that dOP invited the guys to play live with them that same night. Invitation accepted. Together the duos performed a magical set, with an audience hypnotised by the energetic interaction between Jonathan Illel, Damien Vandesande, Hicham Belahmer and Walid Morsaly .  A studio session was then booked in Paris and that live magic was transferred to tape, utilising guitars, electric bass and a collection of analog synthesisers, their sounds naturally and effortlessly combined to become one.  Limit of Speech & Kutna Hora are the voices of the people. A conscious message to our leaders. The EP is a testament to the power of collaboration and the ability of music to transcend cultural and geographical boundaries. Music with a message. Growing up in the midwestern United States, Butane was steeped in the classic underground house and techno sounds that originated in Chicago and Detroit. Further influences came from afar: New York house, west coast house, UK tech house, Cologne techno, Berlin minimal.  His formative years were spent on the dancefloors of legendary venues like Twilo and Vinyl in New York City, Space and Crobar during Miami's Winter Music Conference, and Rednofive in Chicago.

An avid record collector and DJ since 2002, Andrew’s infamous monthly party in St. Louis established an underground scene in the city and became a must-stop for touring international artists.  In 2004, Andrew embarked on his own artistic journey in the studio, despite lacking any formal musical training (a classically trained pianist he was not).  Proving to be a fast learner, his unique and eclectic sound began earning him worldwide acclaim on international record labels in a mere matter of months.  The German press dubbed him a “wunderkind”.  He moved to Berlin shortly after, residing in the city from 2006-2011.  

Now a resident of San Francisco, Butane is renowned for a steadfast commitment to his craft, and stands as a pillar of artistic integrity and consistency in the rapidly changing realm of electronic dance music.  He values studio work over social media, and boasts an impressive and sprawling discography released by some of the most respected imprints in the business.  As the founder of three labels of his own - Alphahouse, Little Helpers, and his new Extrasketch project - Butane's impact on the industry is both deep and enduring.

For over two decades, Andrew has traversed the globe curating unforgettable sonic experiences.  From underground raves to name-brand clubs, electrifying festival stages to poolside soirées, he has graced the decks in over 60 countries.  Infused with energy, finesse, and sophistication, his sets resonate deeply with in-the-know audiences.  Armed with a meticulously curated collection of custom edits, remastered classics, and hidden gems from decades in the house and techno business, Butane draws on his considerable experience moving crowds to deliver versatile, unpredictable, pitch-perfect performances.
