SULEIMAN RECORDS is a Montreal boutique digital label founded by DJ/producer Darem Aissa. The name of the imprint pays homage to Syrian poet Suleiman Al-Aissa, one of the most prominent contemporary Arab poets.

The intent of SULEIMAN RECORDS and its vinyl-only sub-label AISSA RECORDS is to promote and produce positive, quality, underground electronic music. Taking influences from House, Techno and the many amalgamations in between, involving a diverse array of talented artists worldwide.

One of the most consistent and dependable collaborative duos on the current house and techno circuit, Andrew Rasse, aka Butane, and Riko Forinson’s studio work continues to go from strength to strength, with the thriving partnership continually showcasing productions from across the breadth of the electronic sphere. Originally planned as a two-part mini-album on the label, the duos ‘In Concert’ project now looks set to feature as an ongoing collaborative series on Rasse’s Extrasketch imprint featuring their deeper, more musical work.  Here the pair unveils the third installment in the series, delivering three fresh productions to close October.

Opening cut ‘Going Home’ is an exemplary showcase of the duo's interwoven styles and signature elements, delivering a woozy, slow-blooming house production guided by hypnotic vocal hooks, resonating stabs and rich synth melodies.  ‘Weird Romance’ leans towards brighter, prettier territory as dreamy lead lines float atop of refined percussion arrangements and sweeping atmospherics. The impressive ‘You Got Me’ – a slick vocal-led number with an arpeggiated synth bubbling under throughout -punctuates the release in style.

'Italian-mainstay Francesca Lombardo welcomes in Echoe’s twentieth release this December with the three-track Horizone​. Out in December, the EP paves the way for Francesca’s soon-to-be-released compilation album that takes a retrospective look at Echoe / Echolette, from label beginnings to the present day.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the release, Francesca described how​: “​The tracks remind me of good moments. I wanted to call the EP ‘Horizone’ as a wish for a brighter future in our industry!​"

The title track kicks things off in a punchy fashion, as a minimal-leaning bassline chugs along with dreamy synths in the background. Space-like keys build tension, paving the way for a weighty kick-hat combo throughout. ​Darne soon takes the helm, appearing as a gritty late-night cut with hard-edged drum patterns and eerie piano rolls, before ​Sharon finishes proceedings, blending acid-twinged pulses with a tough, club-ready groove.

Label founder of Echoe and Echolette, ​Francesca Lombardo ​shines the light for Italy’s thriving electronic music output. Alongside running two labels, 2019 saw her feature on Poker Flat Recordings’ twentieth anniversary compilation with ​Flumen​, whilst this year has seen her produce ​A Million Souls ​for John Digweed’s Quattro VA on Bedrock Records. Add to this the recent ​Call Me Wrong ​remix release, which ​features incredible edits from genuine dance music royalty in the form of The Orb and 808 State, as well as her August remix of Amtrac and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs’ ​Radical,​ and it is safe to say 2020 is on track to be one of her biggest years yet. Alongside her musical work, Francesca also heads up the ‘Life of Releaf’ project, tackling the issue of climate change and deforestation by donating money from album and ticket sales to plant trees in partnership with non profit organisation, One Tree Planted.'

Growing up in the midwestern United States, Butane was steeped in the classic underground house and techno sounds that originated in Chicago and Detroit. Further influences came from afar: New York house, west coast house, UK tech house, Cologne techno, Berlin minimal.  His formative years were spent on the dancefloors of legendary venues like Twilo and Vinyl in New York City, Space and Crobar during Miami's Winter Music Conference, and Rednofive in Chicago.

An avid record collector and DJ since 2002, Andrew’s infamous monthly party in St. Louis established an underground scene in the city and became a must-stop for touring international artists.  In 2004, Andrew embarked on his own artistic journey in the studio, despite lacking any formal musical training (a classically trained pianist he was not).  Proving to be a fast learner, his unique and eclectic sound began earning him worldwide acclaim on international record labels in a mere matter of months.  The German press dubbed him a “wunderkind”.  He moved to Berlin shortly after, residing in the city from 2006-2011.  

Now a resident of San Francisco, Butane is renowned for a steadfast commitment to his craft, and stands as a pillar of artistic integrity and consistency in the rapidly changing realm of electronic dance music.  He values studio work over social media, and boasts an impressive and sprawling discography released by some of the most respected imprints in the business.  As the founder of three labels of his own - Alphahouse, Little Helpers, and his new Extrasketch project - Butane's impact on the industry is both deep and enduring.

For over two decades, Andrew has traversed the globe curating unforgettable sonic experiences.  From underground raves to name-brand clubs, electrifying festival stages to poolside soirées, he has graced the decks in over 60 countries.  Infused with energy, finesse, and sophistication, his sets resonate deeply with in-the-know audiences.  Armed with a meticulously curated collection of custom edits, remastered classics, and hidden gems from decades in the house and techno business, Butane draws on his considerable experience moving crowds to deliver versatile, unpredictable, pitch-perfect performances.
