The Hurricane Party hails from Richmond, Virginia; a foodie’s paradise with amazing street art which is also a hipster enclave that ranks third nationally in the consumption of Pabst’s Blue Ribbon and is in the top 5 of the most tattooed cities in the U.S.  And Richmond is on the storm track for hurricanes that follow the gulf stream up from the Caribbean.  So, if a hurricane is coming, why not have a hurricane party?
  
The influences and inspirations for each band member are so different but what they found when they came together was the denominator that all of the music they liked had in common; the roots of American music.

Brave Broadway a.k.a. The Brave was born Amir Jamal Williams in Harlem, N.Y. on December 12, 1981, and raised in nearby Washington Heights. At the age of two, he began his acting career, appearing in commercials and print. In 1988, at the age of six, he landed his first television role as J.T. Rallins in the first season of "A Different World". After some on and off Broadway work, he took over the role of Jamal Wilson-Cudahy on the hit soap opera "All My Children" (1993-1998). During that time, he also starred in numerous t.v. movies (Daybreak, Silent Witness) and shows (New York Undercover). At 17, he began his first cartoon voiceover role as "Mack" in the MTV hit "Daria". He retired from acting in 2000 to pursue a writing career, but he had been writing rhymes since the age of eleven. In 2006, under the name "Nicky S.", he released an album entitled "The 5th Amendment" before his 2007 incarceration for a 2004 bank robbery. Upon his release in 2013, he has resurfaced under his new name "Brave Broadway" with his first single, "Blocks We On". He is currently working on his next album, "Flowers for my Childhood."
