Jaap Ligthart presents his debut release, the “Kenny Powers EP”, on the Fris imprint.

Jaap Ligthart grew up listening to what his parents played most - traditional, typically Dutch music that had no relation to what he discovered years later: electronic dance music. Jaap had found his passion, greedily consuming copious amounts of live sets, mix compilations and even good old radio recordings of Tiësto, Carl Cox, Sven Väth, Sasha, John Digweed and everything he could lay his hands on. Soon he taught himself how to mix live at the turntables, surrounding himself with stock piles of vinyl records. Slowly but surely Jaap moves from the decks to the studio to produce his own material and in a short period of time his original tracks, remixes and bootlegs receive the support of the world's big shots. Artists like Sasha, John Digweed, Tiësto, Dave Seaman and Jody Wisternoff from Way Out West all play Jaap's productions to the hilt. Jaap has appeared on Radio 538 (the number 1 radio station in The Netherlands), delivered guestmixes in Dennis Ruyer's Dance Department and had his singles played in Tiësto's Club Life. Now stepping in the arena of Black Hole's sublabel Fris!, Jaap drops two rock solid progressive gems for us all to enjoy.

With his new EP, Jaap Ligthart takes no chances and serves two thick slices of killer dance floor material. The rough edged progressive DJs will have no problem adding both "Kenny Powers" and "Rode Lijn" to their live sets, since they will take every serious DJ performance to a higher level. In a recent interview, Jaap said: "Kenny Powers from the 'Eastbound and Down' TV series is a real hero for me. His hard, raw, straight forward and sometimes over the edge character served as the inspiration for the first track. "Rode Lijn" on the other hand shows perfectly how I layer -and work with- progressive elements to create the sound I stand for: deep, progressive and with a clear reference to techno." We couldn't agree more!

It all started for Fred baker in a big way when he produced the 1996 Ibiza classic trance anthem “Mystery Land” as Y-Traxx and then produced the legendary 1997 club anthem "Eisbaer" as Groovezone on Positiva Records. In the same year Fred Baker produced the huge trance monster "Dream Mission” as Global Trance Mission, with massive support from Judge Jules, Graham Gold, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Tiësto, M.I.K.E. and Ferry Corsten. In 2005 Fred remixed Tiësto's "Adagio For Strings", later on followed with the Sensation anthem "Forever Friends". Fred owns his own record label Baker Street Records and still releases his output on imprints like Perfecto, Spinnin', Nebula and of course on Black Hole and its sub labels. This time Fred appears on the Magik Muzik imprint with "Turn Up The Bass".

Fred Baker's new approach of the "Turn Up The Bass" classic is a true big room bomb. With plenty of hard tech elements and a massively pumping synth line, Fred Baker has given "Turn Up The Bass" the future classic stamp. Absolute smash for the rough edged big room DJs!

Emilio Fernandez entered the scene in 2008 with the single “Reynosa”. The track hit big time and shot to the top of the charts in no time. Supported by all the big names in the industry, “Reynosa” became one of the biggest summer hits of that year. Within a very short period of time the name Emilio Fernandez was carved in rock, leading to remixes of “Arabian Queen” by Kimito Lopez and “Till We See The Sun” by Blake Lewis. Emilio’s follow up singles “Let It Go” and “Saltillo” continued the success and now, after a short hiatus, he is back with the brand new “Closer To Me”, featuring the vocals of the elusive Jones.

For the ones that have followed the project from day one, it is a given fact that Emilio Fernandez of course is the collaborative effort of producers Iwan de Kuijper and Andy Duguid. With “Closer To Me” the duo once again shows that it is perfectly possible to create something unique within the realm of vocal trance, however expanding the sound with state of the art, more techy elements. A crisp arrangement poses as the background for this massive hit, which stands out through its relentless dance floor appeal!
