o•rbyss aims to help soothe the queer spectrum and focus on the well-being of the community. Queer DJs are invited to submit a mix to showcase an alternative side to their music library outside of a rave and take us on a meditative journey. ✨

Notes on the mix:

"I really wanted to translate my shifts in mood over the last few months into the mix and it took some time to nail it down. For me and I assume many others, Winter is the season where I disappear from everything and everyone for a while. It can be quite moody and lonely but also comforting and freeing in a way. When hints of Spring appear - a bit of sunshine, blossoming trees, I instantly feel a shift in my mood. I feel lifted but there’s a slight reluctance to come out of that winter shell and fully embrace that change. This mix represents that mental journey for me. The mix opens with one of my favourite ambient pieces by Mica Levi and Oliver Coates and closes with Moroccan gnawa from one of my favourite local bands Electric Jalaba and holds various textures and sounds in between including tracks by friends AnnLov and Stacie-Ann Churchman"

Born and based in London, lola:de has played at various events in the city such as Riposte, HOWL, Risen Festival and recently Lagos, Nigeria. Known for experimenting with different styles and genres, she infuses all facets of her personality into her sets. Outside of nightlife, she enjoys yoga, cycling, walks and home decoration.
