They believe in the human mind as a self-learning system - creators and originators connected all around the globe aiming to keep the scene alive. They want to cultivate a community and platform for exchange with other artists pursuing music, design, art and events. 

Their first strike comes as “The Arrival Of Unisex & Ernst”, a split EP of the two labelheads to introduce themselves and the sound of SLS. The record contains six analog hardware tools ranging from classic Electro to Industrial. 

SELF001 also includes an A2 inlay print of Dominik Widmanns acrylic painting „Fabric“ (as pictured). His artworks will cover our first three records, fitting perfectly with the cold and futuristic soundscapes we want to showcase.

Jeals skirts the edge of the black hole event horizon for his next EP with a spacey, cosmic electro-heavy EP for Lobster UNDR. 

The A-side packs in the cyber warfare and Perfect Dark shootout sequences, kicking off with the aptly-named Crash, which does its best to give a hefty nod to the scattergun Electronics labels of yore whilst packing in plenty of that Hague-based doom, funk & punch. Happening channels the Luigi’s Castle soundtrack into a collapsing wormhole on the outer rim with some hefty HEFTY drum clobber and a grunting bassline. 

Nifty little lead surprise on the flip, Finally, is what usually would have been that classic lobster ambient A1. Shift in position doesn’t mean the quality’s lacking, this has been opening every Asquith set from here to Canberra and sets the mood nicely for any imminent club destruction. Melodically rich, ebbing, flowing, pulsating synth goodness. 

Packing serious 4/4 production chonk in for the B2 is XL. If the Korg ES-1 has a Round Bois preset then this is it; chunky drums, heavy wub subs and those little synths that make you do a flat hand-dance as you play those imaginary keys. A polite yet wonky, tranquillised closer.

Following the Turner Street Sound collaboration with Rings around Saturn, Melbourne producer and DJ Midnight Tenderness presents his second offering to Butter Sessions, Digi Modes. Throughout, Midnight Tenderness maintains his fixation with dub-wise rhythms and heavenly melody, delivered with his signature silky smooth production.

Digi Modes begins with the complementary pairing of tracks Crosswinds and Dub Dreams which feature on the 7". Crosswinds is a bright medley of garage breaks against hazy synth-work that gently inhales and exhales. Dub Dreams, as its title affirms, is a mirage of sweeping synth loops and chattering rhythms. Elastic Dub is a more traditional homage to early dub works of the 1980s, marked by persistent echoes and rumbling bass that divides and conquers. Reflexitones, and the EP’s endnote Regent St Dub, both add a sprinkle of house and electro, primed for a discerning dance floor or perhaps for now, a dance at home. As a whole, Didi Modes is an affirmation of Midnight Tenderness’ mastery to adopt and adapt acquainted sounds in a unique way.
