BUTTONZ x Abby Vice – Time to Build a Home "Oops! All Swirlies Vol. 1"

This remix is my heartfelt tribute to @prettylights , an artist who inspired me to start creating music in the first place. Teaming up with the amazing @abby-vice , we reimagined “Time to Build a Home” with our own flavor,  blending soulful textures, lush melodies, and heavy-hitting bass to honor the original while carving out something fresh. This track is about transformation, growth, and finding your place in the world, all wrapped up in a swirl of sound.

This is my contribution to the PLF Producers, Oops All Swirls! compilation

To my musical ear, Pretty Lights production is already perfect so I had some reservations about submitting a remix for this project when first approached by Jordan
 After giving it some thought, I decided to treat this more like an edit than a remix. I wasn’t interested in creating a new version or altering something I already considered flawless. But an edit gave me room to rearrange and re contextualize rather than replace
 I chose my favorite Pretty Lights track, High School Art Class, and immediately started digging through live versions from the past two years. I pulled out moments that stood out to me most and began weaving them together with elements of the original studio production
 What ended up happening was the creation of a new swirl from my favorite swirls while still keeping true to important elements and transitions in the song
 Once I had the arrangement locked, I recorded some original guitar lines and as a final touch, layered in some of my favorite Bob Ross quotes to act as a gentle guide through the track, because who better to teach Art Class than Bob Ross?

this song means the absolute world to me. remixing it was something i thought about many times. and many times i decided it was not the right time.
i waited until i felt i was ready to give it the honor it deserves
i first heard this song 18 years ago and I've been trying to get better ever since. 

to have Derek play an early version of this out at elements is nothing short of a dream come true. what a treat it is to be alive and to make music and dance all together with one another. 

i hope you enjoy my take on this classic.

This is my remix of Au5's absolute masterpiece that is "The Way To Infinity", a song that hooked me upon first listen and gained a spot among my all-time favorite songs. It's just... really cool lol

I am REALLY happy with this one. It's not my most conventional song, but I had a ton of fun making it. 

ALSO, this is my first ever song to have custom cover art featuring my OC "Upsilon" !!! I am super excited for him to make his official debut in my music project, as up until now he's been merely a logo on Discord and SoundCloud.

Speaking of the cover-art, the absolutely amazing artwork is made by the equally amazing ‪@deltalaiez Go show them some love, they deserve it!!
