Pianeti Sintetici ('synthetic planets' in Italian) is a new conceptual project by Davide Perrone (Primal Code) that draws inspiration from the factories of Magrathea, a planet in Douglas Adams' classic space opera The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where artificial planets are manufactured on commission.

“This concept has always fascinated me, and I chose the name to frame a hypothetical future of synthetic worlds, told with sound,' Davide says. 'I like to imagine the howls of creatures inhabiting solar systems outside our own. Rarefied atmospheres, alien sequences, and unfamiliar tonal scales. So, I see Pianeti Sintetici as an open-ended design research project where I can explore these inspirations.”

Pianeti Sintetici already has three stand out releases on the legendary Hypnus records and has played a string of mind bending shows, including this mix, which is a live set from the 2023 edition of Positive Education. Reeko, also known as Architectural, started DJing in the late 90s and producing in the early 2000s, and he has released countless timeless records since. He founded the labels Mental Disorder and Evidence and was part of the PoleGroup collective for a decade. Collaborations with Surgeon, Oscar Mulero and Exium, as well as releases on many legendary labels, are part of his discography. Having made a name for himself through a string of choice releases for the likes of Nous’klaer and Delsin, Dutch producer Konduku has been turning heads with his ever innovative take on the techno medium. Pushing for new directions, Konduku’s been laying down intriguing blends of dubbed-out, Afro-infused grooves and plural strains of abstract-leaning, breaks-friendly hybrids. The present mix showcases the breadth of his influences and essential components, extrapolating techno’s genre-transcending nature through a fine mix of heavily verbed-out electronics and shape-shifting buildup, never quite going where you’d expect it, rather seeking the excitement of suspenseful arcs and unsuspected developments. Bold as it should.

OCCA hails from the snowy city of Sapporo, located in the northernmost region of Hokkaido, Japan. In addition to inviting renowned DJs like Peter Van Hoesen, DJ Nobu, Haruka, DJ Yazi, and IORI to perform at his Archiv parties at the legendary Sapporo club, Precious Hall, OCCA has established himself as a respected DJ in his own right.

OCCA has played at several notable events, including Future Terror and Gong, which were organized by DJ Nobu, as well as Exit the Labyrinth, Balance by Mindgames, and Dommune×Boiler Room. His performances aim to take the audience on a sonic journey, where he expertly blends existing techno tracks to craft new sounds and create futuristic techno-style elements.

Every year, the Delayed family invites its dear friends to a weekend getaway nestled in the lush green mountains of Catskill NY. The Barn has always been a very special place and I've met some of my closest friends and collaborates here. Feel very lucky to be a part of such an amazing group of people. And since this spring we are skipping our bi annual trip(busy life) to the mountain, I could not help but share this recording.

Next up in our mix series is Shoal, a Dutch producer and DJ who recently relocated to Prague. Known for his hypnotic, emotionally layered sound, Shoal crafts deep, transportive journeys through trippy textures, modular synthesizers, and rolling rhythms. A core member of the ISOTOOP collective, he’s performed at leading underground spots like De School, Tresor, and Ratherlost. His releases on labels like Tikita, Harmony Recordings, Monument, our own Ute.Rec, and most recently Animalia, continue to expand and refine his unique sonic voice within the scene.

In this mix, Shoal delivers a 1.5-hour live set full of acid-dripping techno, spacey atmospheres, and heads-down minimalism. It’s a slow-burning, carefully building mix that captures the raw live sounds and subtle depth that define his sound. A live-set working just as much the mind as the body.

Marius Bø is a figure within the northern hemisphere of the electronic music landscape, his artistry is deeply rooted in a profound connection to nature's atmosphere and the communal spirit of open-air gatherings. As one of the co-founders of the Oslo-based collective Ute, Marius' musical journey finds its origins nestled amidst the Norwegian forests. It is here, between the trees and rustling leaves, that his sound took root, hosting and playing parties deep in the woods. Founded in 2017, the Ute label boasts a cult-like following for its approach to psychedelic trance music as well as long form downtempo and chill out sounds presented on sub labels Sinensis and Translusid. 

Marius’ sets can be seen as a concoction of psychedelic atmospherics, renowned for his extended sets, generating dynamic tensions and sublime releases that work both the body and mind. Mastering different tempos and moods of deep hypnosis, he deftly connects the dots between old school records and futuristic soundscapes. Whether it’s ambient, idm, trance or techno, the Ute label-head seamlessly blends the sounds with a captivating elegance. 
From hazy braindance to high-energy vibrations in mist-shrouded forests, balmy shores and dimly-lit basements, Marius navigates diverse settings with his distinctive musical style that takes a gentle yet firm grip on the soul. 

His unique approach has brought him to iconic venues such as Pawnshop, Bassiani, and Macadam, and to international festivals like Monument in the heart of Norway’s forest, Organik on a hidden peninsula in Taiwan and Outsider Festival, deep in the Australian bush. Whether in intimate clubs or verdant outdoor landscapes, Marius' music carries an organic and trippy spirit that transcends time and space.

ABSIS is a Barcelona-based DJ and producer known for his deep and introspective Techno music. He has been a regular in the Barcelona scene since the late 90s, performing at events like The Loft (Razzmatazz) and Sonar and Mostra. ABSIS explores the deeper side of electronic music, seamlessly transitioning between Ambient and Techno. He has released music on labels like Hivern Discs, Oslated, and Huinali Recordings.
