Buzz Junior brings his bouncy old school trap sound back to Gravitas Recordings January 31st for his epic ‘Stacks’ EP. Pushing the classic sounds in a fresh new way, Buzz Junior blends styles for something truly fresh and energetic. His last EP on Gravitas was a big turning point for the artist with huge support on the festival circuit, and this release is setting the stage for his next big breakout moment. ‘1234’ with ASHEZ drops January 24th as the standout single before the EP release, and has classic sounds you’d expect from both artists, blending together for an energetic track that has been demolishing dance-floors. ASHEZ has had a huge 2024 year, and kicking off 2025 with this release seems just right…

“Max (ASHEZ) is a fun guy and I think that really comes through in the music he makes so its always a good time working together. 1234 is one of those tracks that we had been kicking back and forth over the process of like two years. There have been a few different versions and arrangements and we finally got it dialed in as I was finalizing the EP.” - Buzz Junior

The title track ‘Stacks’ starts off the EP with a massive 808 driven beat filled with classic hype trap synths that reminds us of classic anthems from Hucci, UZ, Stooki Sound and that era of music. ‘Back Again’ is a perfect blend of trap sounds blended with modern day 140bpm Deep Dubstep, and makes it a perfect DJ weapon for a wide array of sets and artists. ‘1234’ with ASHEZ switches up the tempo into a huge drop combining Buzz Junior’s bounce and ASHEZ’s signature sound design that perks the ears, using massive reeses and top layer synths to take over the full spectrum. ‘Might Be’ keeps the bounce going and brings groovy synth work and deep bass that can make any dance-floor move. ‘Sidewinder’ closes the EP with an epic build into a wild drop featuring a colorful call & response between old school trappy synths and wonky bass music wobbles.

This full Buzz Junior EP is next level and full of massive tracks we expect to hear throughout the bass scene all year long. Buzz Junior returns to Gravitas Recordings on January 27th with a heavy EP we can’t wait to share with the world. Recently being featured on Insomniac Radio and winning the Nocturnal Wonderland DJ / Producer Competition, we are very excited to share his latest work. Circulate EP features Gallium, Aych and Snxxz3 collaborations ready for the big festival sound systems, bridging the gap between modern festival bass music and bouncy trap.

“When I wrote Contraband I it just kind of felt like the opening of something larger than just the one song by itself so I played around with some new ideas that felt like they fit into the same universe and ended up creating the rest of the rest of the EP with that starting point.” - Buzz Junior

‘Drip’ opens the EP with a hyphy trap beat with evolving sound design over a catchy rhythm impossible not to move to, perfectly keeping the same groove while showcasing his unique sound design and interesting switches. ‘Grillz’ with Gallium keeps the same high energy building into a bouncy drop of drippy wubs and heavy bass, a perfect blend between trap and dubstep. ‘Circulate’ has an epic build of breakbeats and dark reese basses, dropping into powerful bass and catchy synths that would hype up any crowd. ‘Periphery’ switches the energy up and is a perfect glitchy trap/dubstep blend; the chopped up rhythms, use of empty space, slower groove and vocal chops make this a nice switch up from the previous tracks and shows off a different side to his production. ‘Contraband (Snxxz3 Remix)’ ends the EP with a more traditional trappy beat, building into a much heavier drop while still keeping the trap roots.

As Tag Team, Cecil Glenn, aka DC the Brain Supreme, and Steve “Rolln” Gibson may be one-hit wonders, but oh, what a hit. The thumping bass, gleeful spirit, and endless chants of the title phrase have made 1993’s “Whoomp! (There It Is)” one of the most enduring party songs of the past 25 years. Inspired by an expression used by the dancers at the Magic City strip club, best friends Glenn and Gibson recorded the song with a loan from Glenn’s parents. It became a smash at Magic City (where Glenn deejayed) and clubs throughout Atlanta. A record deal followed, and “Whoomp!” earned the number two spot on Billboard’s year-end Hot 100 chart and went quadruple platinum. Thanks to a flawed contract, the duo earn only a fraction of the zillions generated by their hit—ranked sixth on Rolling Stone’s “20 Biggest Songs of the Summer: The 1990s” list. After money woes for both and a prison stint for Gibson (busted with 600 pounds of weed), there’s been a “Whoomp!” resurgence.

If you like my music then probably everything you've heard from me has been made on the same 2014 Macbook pro that ive been using for over ten years. Recently that old computer hasnt been able to keep up with production or any regular use. It has been powering down mid session or just while doing basic tasks. I haven't been able to afford an upgrade an I am now long overdue to get a new production computer. I will be putting out as much music as possible direct to bandcamp in hopes of raising money to get a new computer for music production.
