Unsere Nr. 232 kommt heute von einem Ausnahmetalent aus Berlin, das ich nun schon fast drei Jahre verfolge. Außerdem was viel wichtiger ist … sind wir supergute Freunde geworden … was ja nicht so oft passiert. Musik verbindet 😽

Milena’s aka „Katzenohr“ Sound zu beschreiben fällt nicht ganz so einfach. Sie bedient sich hier den verschiedensten Stilrichtungen vom gepitches Bass-House, deepem dirty Downbeat, verrücktem Pop und HipHop und das ganz gewürzt mit einer Brise Metal … würde ich sagen, wenn ich es versuchen würde zu beschreiben. Aber was ich viel entscheidender finde ist Milenas Präsenz und Authentizität hinter DJ-Pult … eben wie im richtigen Leben. Punkig, feministisch, ehrlich, spontan, frech und frisch.

Ich kann mich noch gut an unser erstes Treffen an einem sonnigen Morgen auf dem Bucht der Träumer erinnern. Aus einem Drink wurden drei oder vier und die Bandbreite der Gesprächsthemen war extrem breit. Liebe Milena schön das uns die Musik zusammen gebracht hat und ich hoffe mal auf den Festival-Sommer 2022 – das wir wieder so einen tollen Morgen erleben dürfen.

So und nun anschnallen und ab geht die wilde Fahrt im „Cyber Funk Level Glitch“-Rollercoaster.

Was macht meiner Meinung nach eine gute Afterhour aus?

Ich bin ein typischer Over-Thinker, daher muss ich erstmal unterscheiden zwischen Club- und Wohnzimmer-Afterhour. Die Club-Afterhour ist ja eigentlich bestenfalls die Fortsetzung einer wilden Nacht in einer anderen Location. Mein Favorit!! ❤️  Das Tollste daran finde ich den Ortswechsel und das Treffen neuer Leute, die alle entweder schon seit zwei Tagen durch denselben Club wandern oder auch gerade erst von woanders kommen - die einen aus dem Kater, die anderen aus dem Berghain, die unterschiedlichste Outfits und ihre Stories der vergangenen Nacht mitbringen… eine endlos bunte und aufregende Mischung! Für mich war das immer ein einzigartiger Schmelztiegel und ich habe wahrscheinlich in diesen Stunden die verrücktesten und befreiensten Momente meines Lebens gehabt ✨🌈

Demgegenüber empfinde ich die Afterhour zuhause mehr als Afterglow. Leider bin ich um die Uhrzeit oft schon heiser und wenn ich doch was sage, kommt manchmal crazy Zeug bei raus, darum: Lieber weitertanzen! 

Was auf jeden Fall für beide Voraussetzung ist: Vertrauen, Leute zum Liebhaben und Verlust des Zeitgefühls. Außerdem empfehle ich ein kleines Notizheft um besondere Erlebnisse festzuhalten. Glaubt mir, es lohnt sich 😁

Merry Christmas! We are very happy to welcome Rolandson under the tree today. Just in time for the Christmas afterhour, we were able to get Seasidetrip boss, philosopher and DJ Rolandson to conjure up a special treat for us. In the end it turned out to be a soulful journey full of beautiful dream moments and groovy relaxation. A classic Rolandson:

Rolandson and the "lost depth" - there he is looking over the rooftops, gazing at the distance. Smoke rises, floats between clouds. Soft tinkling sounds from the towers of the city, mixes with the sounds from the boxes. Thoughts dissolve and fly with my longing towards the horizon. The view, the distance, how it pulls me ... once again I look over the city and the rooftops, then I fly there, into the distance, to the view. The beauty of it is that I never get there.

Make yourselves comfortable, have fun with the mix and see you next year <3

Frohe Weihnachten! Wir freuen uns sehr, heute Rolandson unter dem Baum begrüßen zu dürfen. Pünktlich zur Weihnachts-Afterhour haben wir den Seasidetrip Chef, Philosophen und DJ Rolandson gewinnen können, damit er für uns ein besonderes Schmankerl zaubert. Am Ende wurde es eine beseelte Reise voll schönen Traummomenten und grooviger Entspannung. Ein klassischer Rolandson.

Anbei noch ein paar Zeilen von ihm:
Rolandson und die „verlorene Tiefe“ - da blickt er über die Dächer, schaut die Ferne. Rauch steigt auf, schwebt zwischen Wolken. Sanftes Gebimmel klingt von den Türmen der Stadt, vermischt sich mit den Klängen aus den Boxen. Gedanken lösen sich und fliegen mit meiner Sehnsucht gen Horizont. Die Aussicht, die Ferne, wie es mich zieht … noch einmal sehe ich über die Stadt und die Dächer, dann fliege ich dorthin, in die Ferne, zur Aussicht. Da schöne daran, ich komme niemals dort an.

The days cycle through spectrums of deep breathing to shallow as autumn light fades through the eye of a needle. 

We are more than excited to be back with our first episode of our Kollektiv.Liebe podcast series for this year. This time we want to introduce you the mix by our two beloved friends @marliblue_sofyah called "Solstice / Mixed Feelings". 

Have you ever heard of this remarkable moment when you feel both pleased and not pleased about something at the same time? It is pretty much the same as a solstice, when the Sun appears to reach its most northerly or southerly excursion relative to the celestial equator on the celestial sphere. 

Marliblue & Sofyah's sound leads us through an fantastic sound-journey and let us fantasize of lighter days. We would recommend, to take on warmer clothes and go out for a nice chilled walk while listening to this outstanding Journey.

In search for the next exceptional Afterhour Sounds we head to the Swabian metropolis of Stuttgart. There we met picão, a gifted DJ and crew member of https://soundcloud.com/allesamt_imnetz and https://soundcloud.com/beyondcollectiveberlin, who has always been able to convince us with his sets.

His recording basically features exactly what we expected from him. Namely Lush Sound in perfection. And that is by far not exaggerated. Subtle basses meet organic and instrumental sounds, which are repeatedly accompanied by sensual, almost melancholic and uplifting melodies. In addition, again and again passages that seem driving, but without being it. Somehow hypnotic and yet organic at the same time. Hard to describe, but unique how downtempo can be interpreted. 
In our short interview he reveals even more about how his mix was created. "Onda passada" we just say.

- What are your musical influences? What is your musical background? 

I started playing drums at the age of 5 and I think that definitely contributed a lot. My grandpa was a conductor in an orchestra and encouraged me in my drumming.... But then I didn't get stuck with classical music so much as rock, hip hop and jazz. In the further course of my youth I started to collect records and to search for a lot of music of different kinds and origins. I came to electronic music quite late and have to say that until I came across downtempo, I couldn't do much with it. But then all of a sudden it happened to me and I stumbled into it very quickly and intensively. I went partying a lot and searched and discovered a lot, until I wanted to try DJing together with a buddy and shortly after I started hosting my own parties with my first collective in Stuttgart @allesamt_imnetz. And since then always stayed curious and where I am now.
 
- What makes a good afterhour in your opinion? 

I think a good afterhour can be very different.... Personally, I'm a big fan of scraping together the last remnants of my energy after a nice, boisterous and debauched party and just dragging it out a bit and dancing on. But sometimes the energy is not enough and then I just find it nice to spend a few fading hours together with beautiful people and good music and let the party pass in review. But no matter when and how the afterhour happens, I find that this moment of the evening or morning brings a very special energy that becomes like it primarily through the people and music you spend it with.
 
- What thoughts might you share with us about your mix? 

"Ondas passadas"

In late summer I was in my second home country Portugal with a very good friend of mine and for the first time since early 2022 we had time and peace to reflect and share about the events that happened, the moments, the places we visited and the people we had the chance to meet. We talked a lot about what happened and during this time we both searched and collected a lot of music that will definitely find its place in this vacation by the ocean and in this set. 
What I really want to say with all this is that I dedicate this set to rest and reminisce about all these beautiful things and look back on it with a lot of nostalgia and wintry laziness, and with the new year I look forward to many new events.
