Spectrum Radio returns with Episode 004 featuring a wicked mix from @kahaiowens

Born and raised in Hawaii and now based in Los Angeles, Kahai brings raw and hypnotic textures that cut straight to the underground. I connected with him through @jia6am 's @6amgroup Artist Map program, where he also linked up with LA artist @jonnymaven. Together, they’ve started working on music, and you’ll hear one of their collaborations featured in this episode.

This mix is filled with proper techno energy! Rolling grooves, hypnotic layers, and powerful atmospheres. Big respect to Kahai for bringing his sound to the Spectrum series.

For this episode, we’re proud to welcome Michelle Mendez, a San Diego-based Techno DJ and producer. Known for intertwining dark, hard-hitting sounds with fast groovy basslines, Michelle crafts energetic sets that invite dancers to lose themselves in the moment.

This mix is packed with raw techno, hypnotic textures, and driving hard groove! A proper journey into the depths of the underground.

BYRD is a San Diego-based DJ and producer with over a decade behind the decks and a fast-growing presence in the global techno scene. Known for his high-energy sets and sharp selection, BYRD has been releasing music since 2020, blending deep emotion with driving, club-ready grooves.

In 2024 alone, BYRD released over 10 tracks across respected labels, gaining support from melodic and peak-time techno tastemakers around the world. With four new tracks dropping soon on labels like Polyptych, Zalmanim, and TERMENL, his momentum shows no signs of slowing.

He’s also the founder and host of Fresh Press, a monthly San Diego techno event that champions new talent, harder sounds, and immersive dancefloor experiences.
