His subjects were the dead, puppets of flesh held together through his quick work, re-introduced to the harshness of life in better fitting forms for this ill world, returned to this reality through his skill alone… the power of the REANIMATOR.

MINDSCAPE brings his unique and fierce take on d&b back to his home label with REANIMATOR CHAPTER ONE on EATBRAIN, the first part of a series of 3 EPs, that culminate in the REANIMATOR LP. As one of the imprint’s most recognisable figureheads, Mindscape deftly demonstrates why that’s the case with the 4 tracks within delivering distinct and succinctly powerful ideas to the table. MANBEARPIG carries a swagger dripping with pure and deliberately paced attitude, whilst SHUT DOWN (feat. COPPA) rides on a fast-moving bassline and percussive flurry. Snow crunched lightly under his paws as he made his way across the forest floor in the still darkness. Faint light from the pale moon penetrating the depths of the woods occasionally rippled across his fur as he moved stealthily towards the perimeter. The fur around his mouth carried the stains of the many carcasses those pointed teeth had torn into as their dark-tinted red warmth slipped away beneath his fearsome frame. His blood appetite freshly sated, it was time to return to his brothers. The torn and broken light of the forest’s horizon spread across his good eye, that portal to the open plains and the mountains beyond. Smells of the forest’s life and the subtle sounds of the slowly beating hearts of its hibernating inhabitants surrounded him, each distinctly offering the promise and debt of the food they would become with the cyclic melt. His iris shrunk as he padded out into the pure white snow plain, their god, the mountain, towering above in all of its bleak awe. A frozen gust blew across his fur, carrying with it the sound of the distant bloodhowl of his kind, a twisted mournful note full of rage that resonated with his instinct, triggering adrenaline and flooding his form with anger. Quickening his pace, he darted for the pack, lips curled back against fangs that would soon let another pathetic usurper’s lifeforce spill onto nature’s coldest of blankets. The lair of the Wölfe lay ahead, his kind... connected in cruel mortality.

EATBRAIN welcome FOURWARD and his brothers to the fold, bringing a wealth of deadly talent to the label in the forms of SIGNAL and PHENTIX on production and the sharply delivered vocals of the legendary VIRUS SYNDICATE. The REANIMATOR sat frozen in his chair, held spellbound by the stygian gaze of his newest creation. Within the onyx depths of her eyes there was something new, something different, a quality not present in his other works. As she began to rise, he studied her movements with a mix of pride and abject terror. Before him stood his greatest creation, a life truly brought back from beyond that most final veil. She did not lurch with the brutish inhumanity of her predecessors, but rather her movements flowed with a equally inhuman grace that transcended her monstrous form. Her pallid skin and jet black hair projected an aura of unnatural beauty, taboo and forbidden by nature of her construction, yet still undeniable in its existence. Though she did not speak, there was an intent within her gaze. It was cold & alien, dipping into the edge of human comprehension but not truly existing within it. It was this aspect that set the fear surging within him. His other creations had by comparison been parodies of life, their animalistic wants and desires well within his ability to control. It was clear this was no longer the case. The meeting of their gaze created a palpable tension, a physical collision of analogous thought. The pair regarded each other as duelists, testing, probing, each searching for a moment of weakness hidden beneath the blank demeanor of their foe. Slowly, the REANIMATOR began to regain his strength, rising from his chair with newfound courage. This courage dissolved once more as he watched his creation rise in mimicry, his own movements mirrored upon her body like a marionette but for one difference. A wry grin spread slowly across her lips, illuminating that this was not merely mimicry, but mockery instead. The REANIMATOR took one step back, then another, before finally flinging himself towards his tools, fanatically searching amongst them for any that would offer salvation from the eldritch horror he had created. He turned, lashing out with a scalpel held in his trembling hand. The blade bit into the cheek of his creation as he marred her uncanny beauty in an admission of his own failure. For a brief moment, the REANIMATOR saw something new within her onyx eyes, a pain wrought by the betrayal of he who had given her a simulacrum of life. He faltered in momentary regret, empathetic of the pain which he had inflicted until he too felt a pain upon himself. Gone from his hand was the means of his betrayal, and upon his coat there lay a stain. Across his neck, a gash spread slowly, just as his creation’s grin had moments before. This time however, the slow spread of such a line was indicative not of the budding existence of a life but of the creeping end of one. His strength faltering, the REANIMATOR looked once more into the eyes of his creation. Gone was the look of pained betrayal, replaced once more by that cold & inhuman gaze. Delivered by the hand of his own work to the level of the clay from which he wrought his creations, the REANIMATOR fell to the ground with finality.

One of tech-injected dnb’s greatest hero’s – MINDSCAPE – unleashes the limitless power of the 3rd EP – THE REANIMATOR PT.III – from his fourth full-length studio album – THE REANIMATOR LP – on the by now ravenous and vast pack of the EATBRAIN audience. SINISTER SOULS returns to OTHERCIDE RECORDINGS for his latest EP “PLEASURE OF
PAIN”, which follows a selection of their recent releases across labels including PRSPCT
Recordings, Mindocracy Recordings, and their 2019 single on OTHERCIDE “Spider//Hatred” as
part of an increasingly intense torrent of output from the longtime crossbreed and bass music
veteran. Building on such sturdy foundations, PLEASURE OF PAIN finds ample room to
continue to display the signature SINISTER SOULS sound, standing as a decisive statement of
intent as SINISTER SOUL’s first release of the new year.
PLEASURE OF PAIN sweeps into being on the electrified basslines and cinematic chords of its
title track, which surges forth from a subdued atmosphere to provide a dynamic entrance for the
EP’s sonic character. EAT BRAINS then follows with a set of distorted kickdrums and arpeggios
that seem to rise and fall endlessly between the respective portions of its tense breakdowns and
frenzied main sections.100 LIVES features collaboration with MC KRYPTOMEDIC, who delivers
