This was an exercise in imitation. I know that I'm pretty good at aural dictation, and so I thought that, if I could reproduce this song, I might be able to reproduce its mix and thereby develop a better ear for the mixing process. In the process, I learned of some mistakes I had been making. I also learned that making tracks sound bigger and louder is largely centered around the higher frequencies--not the bass and kick.
