UMEK’s 1605 is back with the latest instalment of it’s Desiderati 4 mixed artist series and along with a cut from the label owner himself, it also features thundering techno tracks by NoNameLeft, Beico and AKKI (DE).

All four of the tracks on the EP are peak time techno anthems in the style that UMEK has made his trademark, and in that sense it’s hard to pick a stand out favourite, but AKKI (DE)’s “Move My Body” has that little bit of extra magic.

AKKI (DE) is a German talent who has collaborated on hit tracks with the likes of the Cosmic Boys, but is also well-known for his contributions to labels such as Spartaque’s Codex Recordings and Monika Kruse’s Terminal M.

He has an epic style with pounding percussion that lays a foundation for powerful synths laced with a twisted euphoria and wrapped in dark atmospherics.

Move My Body opens with rumbling sub bass and a pounding kick drum while the lead synth slowly fades in and the tension builds. It hits a crescendo when the drums come crashing back in after the main breakdown, and its explosive finish is perfect for maximum impact on the dance floor.

Atmospheric, experimental and hooky too - clever business from the Bergerac boss.

We know that everything is changing, we are taught from childhood that everything is changing, we have seen many times with our own eyes how everything is changing, and at the same time, we are completely unable to notice the moment when a change occurs, or we are looking for a change not there, where should be. The future is something you can't touch, feel or perceive. Future is not set.
Portland's Dark Leader rarely pamper us with its fantastic releases but when he does, he doing it top notch. This time the sixth release marked by its hometown man Etbonz, with 3 amazing tracks.
The titule track, "The Future Is Not Set" which we premiering today, has anxious, but so nice, driving bassline underpinning it with wonky effects, playful hooks and builds into a peak time killer. Cheeky stabs and dramatic pads only add to the urge the track fills you wrap yourself around and scan the dance floor to make sure there is no terminator around you. This Is Our Time is thrilled to announce its first international artist, Perdu from Amsterdam.
On his EP called 'Finding Life on Planet Rash' he launches us up to the stars with 'Sun Of Nahar' starting this mission with italo-propulsion. This sends us to a stratosphere high trajectory and lands us on 'Equalizing The Truth', an elusive jam with a toned-down bassline and otherworldly soundscapes. The triumphant cosmic house called 'Changing Worlds' leads the way on the B-side with rolling chimes and tribal-y percussion and our dancefloor exploration ends with 'Wrong Perception' a subtle and delicate track which is the deepest of all so it gives the space and time to just reflect. 
We were on board the first time we listened to these tracks so buy a ticket for the ride!

“The woods are lovely, dark and deep,” wrote Robert Frost. At the heart of every forest is a darkness that bides its time, a mystery contained within the large expanses of trees and overgrown foliage. After the sun goes down, the dark forest spirit reclaims its turf, rolling out across bracken, bark and brambles towards its indistinct edges as shadowed pines stretch up like arrows into the night sky. The forest after dark can seem an impossibly scary and isolating place, but don’t be afraid. Just wait for the stars and the moonlight to penetrate the canopy and embrace the magic of the moon forest.

The fourth album release from Bytes, and the first for 2020 from the offshoot of Ransom Note Records, is from Herrmann Kristoffersen, the joyous union of the German photographer and musician Daniel "Flug 8" Herrmann and the Danish singer-songwriter and producer Kristina Kristoffersen. Over a long winter the couple found comfort in front of the crackling fire in the living room of their mountain home in Taunus Woods, just outside Frankfurt. The sounds that unfolded there would become their debut album, a stunning collection of gorgeous, meditative ambience and celestial techno. ‘Vista’ falls in both camps, grounding and calming without being typical meditation music. It bides its time before revealing its magic; an extended opening sequence of dubby, melancholic and melodious loops segues into a stunning denouement underpinned by the blown-out sounds of degraded machinery.

Malagueñas 2 is the second single release from Bongo Joe's exploits into the history of the Spanish electronic underground: LA OLA INTERIOR: Spanish Ambient & Acid Exoticism 1983-1990. The compilation features 20 tracks selected from a fertile period of electronic music production and experimentation in Spain, which shines a light on a tape culture movement and buoyed by a fetish for an exoticism of Asia and Africa.

Made in 1990 in Tenerife but left to the archives and untouched, until now, Malagueñas 2 is an intense rush of electronic hypnotism and was discovered by compiler Loïc Diaz Ronda:

"I knew Javier Segura was influenced by acid folk in his first attempts and also that the Canarian Islands are the Spanish threshold to Africa, so I knew there had to be some tracks... Finally, I landed by chance on his youtube channel and discovered a bunch of unrealeased tracks from the early 90's. Among them, there were two versions of Malagueñas. Malagueñas 1 was a track with vocals. Malagueñas 2 was the instrumental version and it blew my mind as soon as i heard it. With its complex sound layers and its hypnotic pulse, the track had this Andalucian / Arabic flavour. It has only been listened to 10 times on youtube! Javier told me he loved this track immensely"

LA OLA INTERIOR COMPILATION
With the Spanish recordings and philosophy of the 'musica discreta' (Spanish ambient) movement overlapping the premise and manifesto of Brian Eno and Jon Hassell's Fourth World, compiler Loïc Diaz Ronda wanted to carve out deserved spaces for the artists involved, as key components within the history of experimental music. This 'post movida' selection features some cult and pioneering artists like Finis Africae, Suso Saiz (Music for Memory) and Miguel A. Ruiz but the majority of artists featured are generally unheard of in Spain or beyond. The album includes two tracks discovered and released for the first time ever (Suso Saiz's Horizonte Paseo & Javier Segura's Malagueñas 2), a handful of digital and vinyl exclusives and provides the musical backdrop to a scene that went under the radar, whilst simultaneously to the east, on the white island of Ibiza, another much publicised revolution, was well underway.
