Multidisciplinary Artist and Art-Director at trippen, Jakub Kubica has meticulously crafted a live set of unreleased material for Inchmix072. Jakub's ability to create intricate sonic textures invites the listener to find new experiences within the mix after each session. The deeply absorbing soundscape nestles between IDM, Bleep and Drone compositions which drift and flirt between one another vacuuming up any residue of reality.

Had a year hiatus from putting these archive sets out but back with a bang in 2024 where all being well there will be a glut of sets coming your way from the Plex audio vaults, stay tuned and follow if you want further notifications on these.

To kick this next phase off I couldn't think of a better artist to do so, Plant43.
Emile has been a long time friend and ally of Plex & Colony and this is a live set from 10 years back at the 1st P/C/B party we did along with Bleed. 
Despite personal troubles for me on the day I look back at this line-up in awe still, it was right up there with the best of them!

Recorded at 5am in room 2 after Pangaea just torn the place apart with a  blistering 3hr workout. It's a beautifully crafted spacey electro live set that flows perfectly from start to finish, just as you would expect from a master of this sound. Thanks Emile and I hope you all enjoy!

Slowly unfolding over 70mins, Blume methodically carves out a mind-maze of deep polyrhythmic cuts with no escape plan. 

In her own words:
"Putting it together and recording it [this mix] was quite an interesting experience for me. It's the first time I've used four decks to record a guest mix. My aim was to delve into the concepts of unpredictability, uncertainty, and randomness, so I layered a myriad of sounds and loops to achieve that effect. 

Lately, I've been reading a lot about those notions and getting into the idea of letting go of control and embracing life's mysteries. Creating your own reality can be challenging, especially in a structured society (or the illusion of structure, you know how it goes). This mindset has been seeping into my music and sets, and I'm really digging the direction it's taking me."

"I came across a podcast from Fracture, who recorded a slow version mix of Electro and DnB. I found the idea very inspiring and decided to record something like it. So I came up with this podcast."

Vibrant liveliness is the point of Seohyun’s set that evolves from reverb of sound and change of rhythm. She intends to create special and rare experience, often from subconcious or surreal, by delicately mixing sounds relating to reminiscent atmosphere from the broad field of electronic music.

소리의 잔향과 리듬의 변화에서 느껴지는 생명력이 Seohyun의 음악 셋에서 가장 주목해야 할 지점이다.  
다양한 일렉트로닉 뮤직에서 비롯한 기계적 소리와 회상적 요소를 조화시키면서, 무의식 혹은 초현실에서 가져온 듯한 특별한 경험을 만드는 것을 목표로 한다.

It’s our pleasure to welcome Sufar to The Observatory.

As 1/3 of the Eora/ Sydney-based collective, Translate, Sufar’s passion for sonic frequencies spreads wide, curating a podcast series and events via Transitions, building beautifully hand-crafted sound systems and studio monitors via Translate Sound, and DJing across Eora/ Sydney’s underground music scene.

In this mix, Sufar draws us into a deeply emotive, psychedelic listening session which he describes as, “a collection of tracks to help clear my mind, and maybe yours too”.

Monochrome presents, 𝖍𝖎𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝖑𝓥 : Pjenné, Passing Notes.

This winter, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
Pjenné (Penny O’Brien) is a familiar name in the Melbourne dance community. Through her imaginative club sets and weekly show on Melbourne’s PBSfm Radio, she has established herself as a critical fixture in the local scene. Though her sets may vary wildly, Pjenné has crafted a style that is distinctly her own - atmospheric whilst bass-heavy, it’s sure to make you want to move.
The after-hours see her navigating through all realms of dance music - energetic sets that are heavily driven by the psychedelic and progressive sounds of the 90s and beyond. Equally adept at playing small, sweaty basements as she is festival stages, Pjenné has made multiple appearances at the highly acclaimed Inner Varnika, Strawberry Fields, Golden Plains and Boiler Room.
Away from the dancefloor, Pjenné finds a sanctuary inside the radio booth. Her show Passing Notes further explores her fascination with the diversity of electronic music, as well as the community it fosters. The airwaves afford her the opportunity to showcase sounds a little more unorthodox. From early evening soundscapes, downtempo and emotional synth pop, to experimental club music, Passing Notes provides a crucial connection from club to community, also playing host to inspiring local and international talent. 
Pjenné’s passion for what she does is pervasive. Be it in the studio or on the dancefloor, the same beliefs shine through: the importance of community, of supporting each other and the necessity of a damn good dance.

Neska digs deep to craft sets that enchant and surprise. The Basque-born DJ and producer with roots in classical, jazz and punk music, masterfully blends genres to create captivating musical experiences. Currently based in Amsterdam, the rising Spanish star has held it down at major festivals like Sónar and Primavera Sound, while also holding a residency at Human Club Razzmatazz. Out of the booth, she curates fauna & flora, a cutting-edge multidisciplinary event merging electronic music and art installations.

“Dub infused diary of laser sounds and wiggly thoughts. Some of these tracks hold a very special meaning to me and have relentlessly accompanied me during the last months. This mix is the purest representation of my sound right now. It has a silver, grey tone to it, just like Amsterdam's sky in winter. Starting with a heartbeat and followed by a breath, it flows into atmospheric dub, house and techno territory, ending on a more abstract note, swinging between half tempo, assonant notes and arrhythmic patterns. It also features tracks by amazing Spanish late 90s artists such as Vanguard and Prozack which I recently discovered and I'm obsessed with.”
