Pre-Devotional Interviews

President Henry J. Eyring and his wife Sister Kelly C. Eyring addressed students at BYU-Idaho today in their opening devotionals. Their messages focused largely on optimism. In an interview with BYU-Idaho Radio about his talk called “In Your Patience Possess Ye Your Souls,” President Eyring encouraged students to view the challenges of COVID-19 as curriculum rather than a looming, incomprehensible test. He emphasized the importance of learning through the process. Sister Eyring, in her talk “Better Than Expected,” shared a special message about handling worry by finding “thin places” or spiritual refuge and by reacting to situations with responses proportionate to the event itself. She explains how reconnecting with spirituality can help us handle our mortal worries. This interview was recorded in the BYU-Idaho Center Studio.
