Vertical lights on lost bodies

𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀

this track was generated using a software-based modular synthesizer patch I initially created in early 2015. the algorithm first analyzes a number of selected audio files (field recordings, samples, etc.) to find similarities and counterpoints between them. it then uses the data to mix the files together as well as process the resulting audio through various filters, delays and granular effects. additionally, frequency and amplitude data is extracted from the audio and used to control a variable noise generator, FM synth and multi-band resonator effect.

SCHOENBERG IN VEGAS is an electronic duo shared by Quentin Meurisse and Arçon de Nièze (Christophe Guiraud). 
Aim is to explore the intersections between generative music and organic movements in noises. The duo is located between the deep contrasts of the varied textures, and the disappearance of the material, as an indefinable ocher band.

A composer and sound artist, Christophe Guiraud is dedicated to the realms of contemporary music and sound art. His primary goal is to delve into the crossroads of electronic, generative, and written music.

Ars Subtilior and Noise music serve as the dual muses for Christophe Guiraud, akin to two rivers seamlessly woven into a composition of profound strength. The French composer acts as a bridge, connecting the pinnacle of scholarly music with the avant-garde aspects of noise. 

Born in Toulouse in the mid-seventies, he later establishes himself in Brussels, transforming it into the nexus of his continuous creative journey. Presently, he is actively engaged and has collaborated for several years with a multitude of European ensembles and musicians, including Ictus Ensemble, Solistenensemble Phønix16, Tom Pauwels, Arçon de Nièze, Benjamin Glorieux, Ensemble 21, Nemø Ensemble, and more.

His latest compositions delicately blend instrumental timbre and sound hybridization, shrouding this alchemy in a certain secrecy. Here, more than anywhere else, Christophe Guiraud's recent works initiate a dialogue across eras, traversing from the polyphony of Ars Nova to Spectralism, all the while incorporating his noise heritage. Firmly unbound by historical constraints, the concluding pieces presented here unfold in a quivering stasis. The ensemble of these pieces brings coherence across a diverse array of musicians hailing from various places, traditions, and ensembles—everything intricately interwoven towards a particularly striking culmination.
