The SWINGROWERS are on a roll! (Even more so with GYPSY HILL on board!) After the incredible part 1 of their cover version EP entitled; 'DO NOT COVER' featured probably the best ever version of Paolo Conte's VIA CON ME, the Italian trio now follow it up swiftly with this gem of a homage to swing music before they return once again with part 2 of their cover version EP later this summer! Got that?

QUEEN OF SWING also features a collaboration with one of London's finest Balkan Brass outfits, GYPSY HILL whom they met backstage at the RUMPUS club one night and the single is every bit the feel-good, summertime floor-filler one would expect from that heritage. Promo blurb by Fat Harry: S Strong & Boogie Belgique get all flappy on our asses and all swingy on our balls. This tune was the B-Side to Balloo’s ‘Bear Necessites’ and follows on the story of the prickly pear, which turned out to be a peyote cactus. Feel the disturbing darkness build as Baloo’s trip turns a little sour as he slowly realises he’s a bear, he can sing and talk, he is alone and his massive cartoon paws are in fact massive cartoon paws. Mercifully the tune ends before he can viciously turn on Mowgli, his cartoon handlers are able to feed him more ketamine ants (you’re gonna love the way they tickle) to allow him to get through the scene with the dancing bananas and the singing monkeys. Phew!

For the second chapter of our ‘Fast Music’ series we take a journey through the sounds of jungle. From the 19-year Hospital Records and Med School back catalogue we draw from the core, proving just how deep the roots go in drum & bass of past and present.

With influences of breakbeat, dub and reggae, jungle is at the foundation of some of Hospital’s most prominent dance-floor prowlers. In over 46 tracks, Nu:Tone keeps the energy high, moving through the vocal chop-ups of Logistics and Danny Byrd, the deep basslines of S.P.Y and Total Science and right through to the broken beats of A-Sides and Krakota. Not to mention the likes of Calibre, Commix, Icicle, D*Minds and Detail also inspired by the drum & bass origin, bringing the junglist hype right to the forefront.

This time round the carnival horns are calling, the elastic bass-lines drawing and there's a full return of the reverb. Get ready for the rumble of “Fast Jungle Music”.

Fast Jungle Music - Mini-Mix (Mixed by Nu:Tone)

Got a funky reworking of the Temps' classic Papa Was A Rollin' Stone. This version was updated by  LOU E. BAGELS and Winnebago They updated the original version of the song by Undisputed Truth which was released in early 1972. The Temptations #1 hit came out later that same year.

This track was originally recorded by PAOLO CONTE and has become something of a cult anthem. The lyrics roughly translated to English mean "Come away with me...".

C@ In The H@ (pronounced: Cat in the Hat), DJ & Producer who creates a fusion of early twentieth century swing and jazz, and chunky twenty-first century beats with bouncy electronic bass.  

Hailing from Birmingham UK with an innovative style called "Swing with the Big Bass Sound", his DJ sets are about mashing it up and having fun, bringing you Electro Swing & Vintage Remix with aspects of Turntablism, DnB, House, Hip Hop, Dubstep & whatever else fits into the melting pot.  

He is also Director at Ragtime Records alongside Tom ESC (Electric Swing Circus) & Duke Skellington (Vaude Villainz).  His releases have seen him getting a number of Spotify editorial playlistings (including a no.1 spot), tracks in the top 10 on Beatport, and his remix of 'Swingin' Together' has been featured on no less than 3 best of Electro Swing compilations. As well as producing music for Ragtime Records, he has also had releases on Freshly Squeezed, Pedigree Cuts, Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, Ton Liebt Klang, & Greenqueen Music.   

Since 2012, his music has secured him gigs at the most exciting UK Festivals including Boomtown, Shambala, Secret Garden Party & Glastonbury; as well as seeing him playing gigs all across Europe, and further afield including UAE & Thailand.
