I Got You (with Emma Lea)

I love Bill Whiters' song "Lovely Day" so much. I've wanted to record my own version of it for a long time trying to capture the smile this song puts on my face and translate it into a musical arrangement with an uplifting female vocal and a playful jazzy instrumentation. I hope I've succeeded in adding a little bit of loveliness to a song that certainly didn't need my help but hopefully will bring joy to a few more people in its new shape.

Back In Time is the third in Swing Republic’s series of EP’s featuring four brand new songs, as the band gathers material for their fourth studio album, due out later in 2018. The release of Long Legs in January 2018 saw Swing Republic produce a record that managed to strike a delicate balance between contemporary electronic music and vintage swing influences. On Back In Time, the line is made even thinner with the increased emphasis on vocal performance and delicate instrumental passages.
Smooth melodies, vocal harmonies and instrumental passages, both familiar and new, carry the weight of Back In Time’s club-ready production with an ease that makes the final result seem like the natural extension of an age-old tradition. Saxophone solos dance on top of sampled drums, rapid-fire vocal scats follow atmospheric padding synths surrounded by traditional jazz-based instrumentation - all serving the singular purpose of making you dance.
Swing Republic was born as the side project of a platinum selling Danish songwriter and producer, Per Ebdrup. In love with the sound of swing, Per remixed old and obscure vintage gems in his spare time as a freelance composer. These tracks would eventually be brought together in Electro Swing Republic (2011) which was one of the first complete electro swing albums ever released. The second album Midnight Calling (2013) saw the introduction of vocalist Karina Kappel and featured the massively popular Crazy In Love version that has notched up well over 4 million plays on Spotify alone and even higher numbers on YouTube.

He's a DJ, producer and saxophonist from Germany, who toured through Europe with his live saxophone project "MSP“, together with the well known "Sound Nomaden" and discovered the passion of DJ-ing beside. As a producer, he has continued to develop his skills and sound, so that his new Swing House stomper "Roaring Twenties" has become a milestone of his Electro Swing productions. C@ In The H@ (pronounced: Cat in the Hat), DJ & Producer who creates a fusion of early twentieth century swing and jazz, and chunky twenty-first century beats with bouncy electronic bass.  

Hailing from Birmingham UK with an innovative style called "Swing with the Big Bass Sound", his DJ sets are about mashing it up and having fun, bringing you Electro Swing & Vintage Remix with aspects of Turntablism, DnB, House, Hip Hop, Dubstep & whatever else fits into the melting pot.  

He is also Director at Ragtime Records alongside Tom ESC (Electric Swing Circus) & Duke Skellington (Vaude Villainz).  His releases have seen him getting a number of Spotify editorial playlistings (including a no.1 spot), tracks in the top 10 on Beatport, and his remix of 'Swingin' Together' has been featured on no less than 3 best of Electro Swing compilations. As well as producing music for Ragtime Records, he has also had releases on Freshly Squeezed, Pedigree Cuts, Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, Ton Liebt Klang, & Greenqueen Music.   

Since 2012, his music has secured him gigs at the most exciting UK Festivals including Boomtown, Shambala, Secret Garden Party & Glastonbury; as well as seeing him playing gigs all across Europe, and further afield including UAE & Thailand.
