Despite the troubles globally faced in 2020, it’s safe to say that The Allergies bucked the trend and came back by ultimately having a rather glorious year. Releasing their fourth studio album, achieving the ‘A List’ on BBC Radio 6 Music and Radio Eins in Berlin, climbing high in the NACC US college charts, and generally receiving critical acclaim from a world that had an understandable appetite for some joyful and fun music in their lives.

2021 shows no signs of things slowing down. The heat continues for their 2020 album Say The Word with Pioneer, Liptons and IAMS all taking Allergies tracks for their global advertising campaigns. Rather than rest on their laurels, though, the guys went full lockdown creative and have their fifth album due for release in September, 2021.

“Jumping Off” was the first new track from the album to be debuted at the end of 2020 – A self-sampling version of their 2018 track “Main Event”. As with all Allergies tracks of late, the limited 7” release caused a Discogs feeding frenzy.

Now, The Allergies power forward with the first single of the 2021 album campaign – An absolute dancefloor destroyer featuring legend of the mic, Dynamite MC, entitled “Lean On You”.

The Allergies first hooked up with Dyna on previous album Say The Word for the fan favour-ite “Hot Sensation”. But, scheduling clashes with Dynamite’s own album release meant that a single outing for that track was not possible.

No such issues this time round means The Allergies kick off their 2021 album with a serious club and radio contender to move things to the next level.

It’s a stylistic new lane for the Bristol-based beatmakers. Their trademark heavy drum chops now flowing on half time tempos, with blues guitars riffs front and centre. The perfect back-ing, then, for the UK rap legend to find his theme and raise the roof.

The 7” is backed by “Working On Me” – A classic Allergies-style screamer with a taste of funky swamp rock, updated for your favourite dancefloor/kitchen/outside space, with five other people…

"We popped round C@ in the H@’s gaff for a bit of knees up with him and fellow '100% Animal' lover Mr. Switch (4x World DJ Champion) the other night, and soon discovered we'd landed in a veritable menagerie of extreme animalistic mentalness. The man himself is a cross between Dr Teeth from the muppets and Dr Doolittle from……the famous film. We parked up in his garage and were met by a Gnu in a Shoe sniffing glue; had our coats taken by an electric Pig in a Wig; went for a pee and were met by a Giraffe in a scarf in the Bath; had some dinner and found Gary Busey crouching in the sushi. The C@ was insistent on lounging in his studio in a pair of leopard skin speedos, whilst teaching a fox to box and a lynx to kill JarJar Binx - hooray! He soon booted us out for not having any fresh skills to teach to his animals, so we nabbed this massive little 'Sax Party' gem of theirs on our way out - rest assured, we can guarantee no animals were rhymed in any way!" - Fat Harry.

C@ In The H@ (pronounced: Cat in the Hat), DJ & Producer who creates a fusion of early twentieth century swing and jazz, and chunky twenty-first century beats with bouncy electronic bass.  

Hailing from Birmingham UK with an innovative style called "Swing with the Big Bass Sound", his DJ sets are about mashing it up and having fun, bringing you Electro Swing & Vintage Remix with aspects of Turntablism, DnB, House, Hip Hop, Dubstep & whatever else fits into the melting pot.  

He is also Director at Ragtime Records alongside Tom ESC (Electric Swing Circus) & Duke Skellington (Vaude Villainz).  His releases have seen him getting a number of Spotify editorial playlistings (including a no.1 spot), tracks in the top 10 on Beatport, and his remix of 'Swingin' Together' has been featured on no less than 3 best of Electro Swing compilations. As well as producing music for Ragtime Records, he has also had releases on Freshly Squeezed, Pedigree Cuts, Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, Ton Liebt Klang, & Greenqueen Music.   

Since 2012, his music has secured him gigs at the most exciting UK Festivals including Boomtown, Shambala, Secret Garden Party & Glastonbury; as well as seeing him playing gigs all across Europe, and further afield including UAE & Thailand.
