Introducing Slamboree to the Rat Records family! A live band with a smörgåsbord of circus performers, daredevils and entertainers. Taking each show as it comes, assembling a different crew from their collective for each show and every gig is very different to the last.

Musically they fuse bass-driven beats with live orchestra, guitars, percussion, loops, visuals, brass, pyrotechnics and circus.

The genres bounce around breakbeat, dubstep, drum & bass, dub, techno and electro fused with balkan, folk, and 'gypsy' flavours... All original and all live. This all translates in the studio to an incredibly fun, quirky first release on Rat Records, entitled "Cheeky Peppers".

Rat's head honcho, Deekline, applies his midas touch and turns it into gold in a way that only he can! Given unique elements to work with, he manages to integrate them into something a little left of centre for him, yet somehow still distinctly Deekline.

Extra Medium has created his masterpiece. An EP too hot for stereos, so full of filthy gypsy swing and swagger that if it made an entrance in a movie it would kick in the office door with a blast of Ennio Morricone trumpets, extinguish its cigar under the boot of its snake skin boots, knock back a slug of whiskey and furiously kiss us around the face and neck until we breathlessly pushed it away in case it ruffled our luxurious blonde hair or smeared our blood red lipstick - the dirty rock and roller...  We tried to interview him but every time we asked him a question he put his finger to our lips, looked into our eyes and whispered "shhhhhh". So dreamy, so wrong, yet so right. Extra Medium; he bangs.

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings are on the themed tip again, this time getting their reggae vibes on. First came the “Swing that Funk” EP, and now comes “Breakin the Riddim”!! An EP of pure funky riddim feelings, BBP have hauled both veterans and new in to create their take on how they feel breaks and reggae should be put together…

DJ Maars kicks the EP off with his own unique style of riddim and this man is a master of the reggae/hip Hop mash, and with this, there’s no disappointment. Basschimp follows up with a banger of a tune called Under Mi Sensi, which has received the head-nod treatment, with big drums and bass to tear the dancefloor up. BBP’s resident funkster Leygo, brings the heavy vibes with his badboy of a track. Tight beats, accompanied by deep rolling bass and funky horns bring this already sweet tune to life.

No breaks compilation is complete without a bit of wobble, and who else better to provide it, than Cockney Nutjob. The man has skills, creating simple, yet great tunes that are almost impossible not to enjoy!! Finally up-and-comer Fredy High brings the happy vibes. A real reggae riddim, with nice breaks, and a sweet vocal, make this tune a secret of the record box.

C@ In The H@ (pronounced: Cat in the Hat), DJ & Producer who creates a fusion of early twentieth century swing and jazz, and chunky twenty-first century beats with bouncy electronic bass.  

Hailing from Birmingham UK with an innovative style called "Swing with the Big Bass Sound", his DJ sets are about mashing it up and having fun, bringing you Electro Swing & Vintage Remix with aspects of Turntablism, DnB, House, Hip Hop, Dubstep & whatever else fits into the melting pot.  

He is also Director at Ragtime Records alongside Tom ESC (Electric Swing Circus) & Duke Skellington (Vaude Villainz).  His releases have seen him getting a number of Spotify editorial playlistings (including a no.1 spot), tracks in the top 10 on Beatport, and his remix of 'Swingin' Together' has been featured on no less than 3 best of Electro Swing compilations. As well as producing music for Ragtime Records, he has also had releases on Freshly Squeezed, Pedigree Cuts, Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, Ton Liebt Klang, & Greenqueen Music.   

Since 2012, his music has secured him gigs at the most exciting UK Festivals including Boomtown, Shambala, Secret Garden Party & Glastonbury; as well as seeing him playing gigs all across Europe, and further afield including UAE & Thailand.
