Blockdata is a Scottish-born producer, sound designer and DJ Gavin Hislop. Since the launch of this project in 2018 he has had releases with Therapy Sessions, OHM Resistance, Triple G Recordings, Sonic Terror and Abstrakt Reflections. During the day he works in the video games industry as a senior sound designer and composer in the United Kindom, having recently worked on the Call of Duty franchise. 2023 see's Blockdata proudly join the Othercide family - channelling his deep love for fast and hard Drum and Bass with a heavy 3 track EP entitled 'Execute Function'.

Blockdata - Rift Breaker

Introducing a more multigenre approach to my sound, this 150BPM track blends industrial distorted hardcore techno, harsh breakbeats and dreamy soundscapes. 

'Vestigial Scourge' draws inspiration from an illustration by renowed manga artist Q Hayashida (Dorohedoro/Dai Dark) who created a special drawing for a new collaboration with Japanese hard and experimental music powerhouse Murder Channel.

The track is part of an exclusive compilation only available when purchasing a package that contains a poster of the illustration, a hoodie with it printed, and an album featuring 11 artists in digital format. Starting this new season, a great release from the master duo known as Counterstrike. They are known all over the world for their amazing productions and creativity. They are one of the most respected acts of Hard and Dark Dnb. And for this release they bring us two bombs.

The first is STALKER, a fresh track, with great ambience and dark vibes but with a different “flow”, play it loud and enjoy!

The second is a Counterstrike remix of an iconic track by the Bulgarian producer Cooh, ‘Teroma’, a classic YSR banger. This Remix had a lot of shapes and finally found its final former with this perfect percussion and bass, a track built to destroy dancefloors.
