The heat of the day.... #153

This must be the quickest recording I have ever made. I spent an entire day listening to the original non-stop. That same night I started recording, and in less than two hours, I had a decent take. If you're familiar with the original, you'll notice that I’ve infused it with a completely different feeling. That's what renditions are all about, right?

I knew that this first take wasn't perfect and planned to revisit in the following days. Big mistake...or maybe not? Two days later I was totally unable to match the same tone and mood. You see, feelings change and so do voices. So, I'm now committed to this first, decent take. Be easy on me. 😊

Those recited by David are verses from one of the most famous poems and one of the greatest Italian poets of the 20th century (Eugenio Montale). They are taken from the collection entitled ‘Ossi di seppia’ ('The bones of cuttlefish'), published in Italy in 1925, and several times translated into English (alone or together with other works by Montale).
Many thanks to David (@david-dunhamuser589535203), who agreed to collaborate on this little creation, also adding his refined guitar phrasing. All the (usual) imperfections are mine.

MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME (with acoustic piano)

'One More Breath' is a Jazz Fusion track inspired by the practice of breathing exercises. Chi-gung, meditation etc. When one arrives at their limit, can one relax and add "One More Breath". Through weeks, months and years of practice, one slowly improves and progress is made. So then "One More Breath" is the inspiration in all activities, to not give up at "the final hurdle".
