Kick off the weekend with the collaboration that never was as UK electronic music heavyweights Hybrid and Evil Nine finally join forces (with a little help of yours truly)!

"Icicle Nails" combines Evil Nine's "Icicles" (from their sophomore 2008 album 'They Live!') and Hybrid's single "Nails" (from their latest release 'Black Halo') to turn the latter into the perfect closing track for your party night.

Not quite breaks this time - a mashup of two covers, with Hybrid's version of Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box" meeting the PYLOT remix of Scandroid's cover of "Thriller" by Michael Jackson.

This one I did when Mass Effect 3 was still fresh and its ending heatedly debated.  After his soundtrack for "Moon" Clint Mansell had already reserved himself a spot in my music heart, and his piano-heavy contributions to ME3 were the best thing that could happen. But once again there's nothing that can't be improved by throwing some more Hybrid at it.  :)

Here's something for the weekend! Hybrid's "Take A Fall" somehow feels a little lost on their album - no single, no remixes, not even bootlegs. But not anymore! I decided to spice it up a bit with a little help of another two of my favourite artists. In the bass department, Lee Coombs and Dopamine rock the floor, while Future Funk Squad and Product.01 provide the sweet topping. Enjoy!

This is my first mashup made from three different tracks, rather than the usual two. And sorry for the not exactly correct grammar.

With Hybrid's fourth studio album just around the corner, this month's mashup features the vocals of their previously released single "The Formula Of Fear" (sung by Charlotte James) layered over the rearranged Beta remix of Rektchordz' "Left Behind" to create the progressive breaks remix that was painfully absent from the original single.

After all Disappear Here mashups have been done, I thought I should go back to the first Hybrid album I ever listened to and pick one of the less obvious tracks. This one was featured in one of last year's Dirty Beats sets but needed some finishing touches. Thanks to everybody who gave some input on the previous demo, and as always a special thank you and credit to the original artists!

A dubstep-infused battle between some of UK's finest: it's Hybrid's "Blind Side" mixed into the Qemists' "Renegade" (original/vip mix). I never thought I would do dubstep, but there you go. Enjoy the track and pick up the originals to support the artists (so they can keep on releasing tracks for me to combine with each other  :)  ).

It's Monthly Mashup time! This one is fresh from the mixing desk, joining Way Out West's "Only Love", one of last year's hottest tracks, and the latest Hybrid single "Can You Hear Me". Even if the weather in your place is as bad as it is here, this track will get you in the mood for a hot summer for sure!

It's 2012 everybody, so I thought I should finally put some finishing touches on a number of mashes still resting on my hard drive to get my head free for other things.

The first track is a mix of three different Hybrid tracks - the Kill City Sounds remix of Numb, the vocals of I Know and some additional sprinkles of Still Movement from the Cinematic Impact compilation (which I had to rearrange so the 3/4 rhythm would fit).

I guess a full album of combined snippets and individual tracks from all their previous songs would make for a great 20th Anniversary album in 2016...  ;-)

The Soundsystem Dub of Blind Side probably is my favorite tune of 2011, but I reckoned it could still be slightly improved by adding some of the awesomeness that is Rob Swire from Pendulum. So until those two behemoths eventually give each other the remix treatment, enjoy your stay on the Island Of The Blind.

I promise this is gonna be the last mashup of any tracks from Hybrid's "Disappear Here", unless I can get my hands on a good vocal of "Original Sin" (you hear this, Mike & Chris? *wink wink*). It's not exactly the end of June yet, but Wednesday is reserved for my next episode of "Dirty Beats Done Dirt Cheap" (which you can listen to on Kick 106 this Tuesday) so I thought I should upload this as some kind of promotion.  ;-)

Remember when I said I wouldn't do any other Hybrid mashups unless I would get my hand on the acappella of "Original Sin"? Well, seems like I will have my own words for dinner tonight.

It's Hybrid's latest single, "Disappear Here" mashed into and over Chicane's "Giants", the title track from their 2010 album which just seemed to appear out of nowhere. Unfortunately, I couldn't get completely rid of the music from the Hybrid track, so there are fragments of it left in the last third. Chances are I will do another version with a different track at some point, but for now, I am still quite happy with it, and I hope so are you.
