So here I am, happily an album older, introducing the first of Adamant's remix packages.

Since the whole project was, generally-speaking, "a personal affair" and a lot of the album was not necessarily "club-ready" (does that even make sense?), we invited our friends on board to do the dirty deeds for me and rework my sounds into something normal people can dance to.

First up are Mind Against. I've known these guys for a long time, and despite them being somewhat "new" to the scene, I clearly remember them fiddling around with cheap cracked software like the rest of us Milanese idiots around the same time. Matured into true synth magicians, they've been years in the making and, if you ask me, it shows.

Next is Alex Smoke, who I believe needs no introduction. Probably one of my biggest influences, I have been a fan for ages and he is the reason I discovered Vakant. In case you've been living under a rock, after a little break he's now back with a bang, responsible for probably one of the year's best LPs (as Wraetlic), an outstanding EP on the legendary R&S and now this. I've had the pleasure of finally meeting and hanging out with Alex a few times while we were both living in Berlin and I have to say he's exactly as awesome. His remix totally destroys my original, which I thought sounded "fat" but now sounds like a skinny girl in Barbie clothes in comparison.

Lake People (actually just one Lake Person, Martin Enke) is another really nice guy who just happens to make great music. After months of people telling me I should check his stuff out, mentioning we had a lot of things (sound-wise) in common, I had the pleasure of playing after him in Paris. His liveset totally rocked the place and I've been a fan since, so it was a pleasure to have him on board.

Last but not least, new Vakant boys Sons of Tiki round off the package with a club-oriented version of "Blackened".

I guess that's all. I'm not very good at this marketing hype thing, and upon re-reading this it actually made little sense, nor is it particularly inviting. Whatever the case I hope you enjoy listening, playing or partying to this as much as we did making it: I assure you the music is better than this writing.

Möd3rn is a global project from 3 wellknown artists who wanted to give a side project from their own solo career. It's a band, producing, playing live but it's also a label created only for the trio productions. Each releases will propose 3 tracks from the 3 artists. For that first one the famous trio propose 3 huges bombs Mö4, Mö5 and Mö6, 3 huge techno killer using rough skins with raw edit. Speech less and listen to that we can call Pure TEchno.
While carefully handling their respective careers, postponing then their obvious collaboration, Möd3rn trio's members have capitalized its desire and now deliver its mere substance, in the rightest moment, where, simply, all the distant forces converge.
The six daring, expert hands merge now into a unique entity, unanimously moving within the same effort towards techno music. Of the distinct identities merely remains the ethereal, synthetic essence devoted to the group, and the common musical passion that leads it. The formula is elaborated freely: each one's adjunctions -subtle keys, nervous chords, underground blows, rhythmical uproars- pour into a thick maelstrom, opaque, condensing Detroit's grieving sensibilities as well as last decade's bewildering cacophonies. The potion obtained is irresistible, an ecstatic hybrid, prodigiously actual, that renders all the genre's diversity and dynamism.
Chance intertwined their paths and now the three companions celebrate both the friendship that resulted and the good fortune that has driven it, by improvising live together as one faceless, solid body agitated by the urge of dance and music, composing the material that shall be processed later on to form their eponym label's releases.

Caribou - Can't Do Without You (Tale Of Us & Mano Le Tough Remix)

Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

London-based artist Jonny cade has already enjoyed solid recognition for his releases on the likes of 2020 Vision and Morris Audio. This time round, he raises his game once again for Music Is Love’s 10th release, dishing up a serious dose of house goodness aimed squarely at the dance floor.

Get On My kicks off proceedings with hurrying drums that shuffle over a rumbling bassline until 90s inflicted keys quicken and build the tempo over the course of the track. The ticking hi-hats, snares and hand claps are woven intricately over the shifting key stabs, while a faint female vocal teases and whirls throughout.

Confused Keys slows the tempo slightly, with a more defined bassline paving out against the groove laden percussion sequences and distorted vocal sample. Elasticated keys ricochet off each other until a melodic interchange of pads submerse at the break, slicing the elements of the beat and taking it closer to peak-time.

Nottingham's Nail adds resounding deepness with his mix of Get On My. Shuddering key pads flourish to form the fore of the track, bouncing off the percussive loops that rhythmically swing out over faint synths to add a true deep breadth to his remix .

Give it All Up finishes off the 4 track EP the way it started: swift pace, swaggering 90’s inspired house. A flurry of claps and snares are matched by groove-heavy drums and a vocal sample that upends the overall hands-in-the-air mood of the EP. Fomenting his own melodic sound that is part house, part garage, Cades material is coherently woven together, without ever being cast free from an underlying rhythmic house groove throughout.
