Derrick May is one of our main headliners at Rejected's Amsterdam Dance Event 2012 night at Studio 80, 18th of october.
Since my early dj days, I consider Derrick May as a huge inspiration, and in particular this dj set. Broadcasted live in 1996 from the legendary Chemistry night at Escape, Amsterdam. It was recorded from midnight radio by my partner in crime Edwin Oosterwal who borrowed me the cassette tape which I never gave back to him, which reminds me I should do that sometime soon.

In this mix, Derrick May shows us that in 1996 dance wasn't pigeonholed to one style or sound. He mixes Moodymann's groovy deephouse with Jeff Mills and Surgeon's raw techno. He goes from Donna Summer's disco to Tyree Cooper's jacking electronic funk, from Masters of Work's new york house to Ian Pooley's epic chord techno. All of this is mixed in a fast and skillful pace, a style that so clearly carries Derrick's signature.

There's some truly magical moments in this mix, how he get's out of Surgeon's 'Syllable' into Global Communication's 'Sensorama' at 1:09 leaves me speechless..

Even though by now I know most of the record he plays here, there's still a few I've been looking since the very first time I heard this mix. Would be great to get the tracklist completed, any help is greatly appreciated!

Francesco Visconti, better known as VSK, is an Italian techno dj and producer, born in Rome in 1986 and based in Berlin.
He has got familiar to different forms of techno, his style is usually very hard and dark. 
Well-known are his very heavy synthesizer-lines with influences of industrial techno.
His music is anywhere to tough industrial, freaky and electronic to deep and spacey which can be found on labels like: 47, Soma Records, Planet Rhythm, Genesa, to Joton's Newrhythmic.
True to his sound and style, the hour Francesco put together for us is raw, deep, and dark swerving through industrial techno and apocalyptic electronics.

Siasia - DJ, producer, promoter and label owner (Dirty Stuff Records). He comes from Katowice, Poland and he is one of the longest prospering and the most recognized person on the Polish Electronic music scene. At the age of 13 he has his debut in a local radio station in with his „Zerwij Sufit” audition. Since then he regularly plays in clubs of Silesia region. Siasia was acknowledged very quickly. Only 2 years later he become a resident DJ of a very well known, both in Poland and abroad, Kanty club in Jaworzno, and it lasted until 2004. After his "break up" with Kanty club, Siasia focused on promoting his own parties. Together with his friends form the K.O. booking agency they took care of the Ego club in Katowice. In September 2006 he joined Inq club in Katowice - where he is hosting various parties ever since. In 2018 he become resident DJ at P23 club(Fabryka Porcelany). He is a co-producer of the documentary "Technologia Kultury". In 2019 he was chosen by Muno.pl - the second best Polish Techno DJ of 2018. Enjoy this very magical and enchanting set he prepared for us!

Excited to have Pär Grindvik as our KNTXT Radio guest this week. He has been a central figure in the Swedish electronic scene since the 90s as record store owner, label manager and producer. In his artistic career Pär has released music across a plethora of acclaimed electronic labels, including a string of hits on his own Stockholm LTD imprint as well as Drumcode, with frequent collaborator Hardcell. Pär’s recent output has seen him contribute music to labels such as Semantica, Leyla, and Weekend Circuit. Pär continues to serve as one of the most exciting and hardworking contributors to the scene. Every inch of Pär’s work, including labels, artwork, release info and music, is wrapped with heart and emotion, a quality which keeps the sparkle and curiosity alive within the ever-changing adaptations of the artistic world.
