lore if curious:
FOREVERTALE ( must be capitalized or die!!1 ) is owned by my friend foreverinpocket ( hence the "forever" I believe? )

FOREVERTALE takes place in some kind of sub-earth spirit realm type thing; instead of the underground. people who die on the surface become monsters and appear in the ( we'll call it foreverworld )

papyrus ( now called "D" which stands for dunkin which stands for dunkin donuts ) is the main character of FOREVERTALE;
he died by gunshot, becoming a skeleton when he reached the foreverworld

he is, if you couldn't tell, blind.
his eyes were both shot by sans in the surface world ( now called E for ezekiel iirc )
sans ( E ) died via some kind of incurable disease

so anyways, as a result of his vision loss and being a fucking skeleton, he seeks out the eyes of the next human to fall ( read the dialogue yea )

he waits
and waits
you could even say he waited forevertale

and so the first human ( you | the player | named "joseph" (idk what's with the bible theming don't ask me) ) appears
and he chases you down throughout the story ,
almost starting a fight several times but always being interrupted.

theres a dock-like area that can take lost souls from the foreverworld and bring them back to the surface world, however its heavily guarded and your only option to get there and free yourself is by killing the souls guarding it ( most of the cast )

hence its only available at the end of the genocide route
this is where you actually fight him;
he notices the security is gone so he attempts to escape, just like you .
but you cross paths last second.
he's been told by someone that the only eyes that can bring back his vision are that of a lost soul's.

for reference: lost souls appear in the foreverworld as they looked in the surface world, they're a result of things dying too young iirc

so yea, mc is a child, and he's trying to gouge out your eyes and take them as his own that's kinda messed up man omg what.

anyways the fight doesn't end until you kill him; he just wants your eyes, not your mercy.

in his previous life, D was a normal man slowly being driven insane by mundane things such as a corporate 9-5 job as a result of his detrimental mental state.
he turned to murder, for the sole purpose of entertainment , as he considered his life "boring".
