A knock sounded heavily on the door, stirring her quickly out of her seat. In one fell swoop she downed her drink and made for the door. On the other side of it friendly faces greeted her with open arms. Overwhelmed, her stomach squirmed uncontrollably, feelings of anxiety and excitement mingling into one. She couldn't believe they were all reunited, this had seemed like a far off dream not so long ago. She had to pinch herself to remind her that this was reality.

Following his first EP Twilight/Crato in December of last year, Manchester-based producer WDDS returns with his second EP Wilderness/Reunited. Produced during a period of physical and mental isolation during lockdown, the two tracker transmits feelings of reflection whilst looking to a brighter future, through warm pads, deep atmospherics and low slung grooves.

Hazy orange words buzzed on the screens around the airport, line after line read the same word: 'Delayed'. She sat on the floor amongst all the other disgruntled customers, pondering how long she'd be here before an update sounded across the tannoy. She had always hated travelling but she didn't mind waiting. It offered time for thought and contemplation, and that had become something of a rarity nowadays...

Glasgwegian native Andy Graham AKA Sei A returns to his regular home Aus Music for what marks his fourth studio album, Kinetic Action, and the first full length since 2016's Space In Your Mind. Known for his ability to weave subtle melodies throughout his productions, be it sparse dub or hypnotic techno, Sei A has crafted a distinct sound that shines across his lengthy discography. Alongside the album, Aus Music call on the remix duties of two UK techno mainstays, Surgeon and Hodge, who each bring their razor sharp touch to the originals.

Thomas Gray & Liam Ebbs : ‘‘Recollection of Everything Beautiful’ was written over the space of 18 months between 2019 and 2020. The protracted time frame for the creation of the record corresponded with a period of vast personal change for both Thomas and Liam. Contrary to their debut record, ‘3 Days, 2 Nights’, this work is less bound to place, rather being a reflection on the joy of transformation.’’ 

Part 1 of ‘To An End’ opens the project, fusing ethereal textures and modulating synth tones with a balearic tinged plucked melody and an amalgamation of euphoric strings and atmospherics. ‘Of Two’ follows next and sees the duo deliver intricately evolving off-kilter drums alongside elongated jazz-tinged bass notes and their signature cinematic soundscapes. Following is ‘.nov.’, which contrastingly switches the focus over to minimalistic 4/4 drums, snaking subs, wandering piano lines and resonant fills throughout. 

‘That Was You’ kicks off the flip, once again offering a more left of centre rhythmic approach via glitchy percussion and bumpy kicks while billowing synths and warm Rhodes ebb and flow throughout. ‘Variation II’ embraces a modern classical aesthetic with organic percussion, subtly blooming piano melodies and tension building pads next before Part 2 of ‘To An End’ closes the package, perfectly concluding the experience through evolving guitar melodies, blissful atmospheres, brass swells and a soft rhythmic flow.

Cosmic Resonance, a vinyl imprint at the forefront of Toronto’s burgeoning underground dance community returns, this time with 100% Gone, the debut EP of fellow-Torontonian Inner Touch aka Nicolas Field. Having been heavy involved in the punk scene, Field manages to keep a distinct sense of that energized emotion constant as Inner Touch – swapping guitar riffs and snarling vocals for spacey synthesized textures and hypnotic drum sequences. Inner Touch carefully and creatively evokes a hidden longing for solace and self-discovery, something Field credits as driving elements for 100% Gone.

From the onset of 100% Gone, the listener is immersed in a buoyant, dreamlike soundscape. The EP begins with Dripping, and an immediate introduction to the electronic rabbit hole. A 4x4 kick drum cuts through the haze created by cosmic synth textures. Well executed percussion offers enough space for the deceptively deep and robust pads. Robotic sounds wisp through the mix, fluidly decentralizing the listeners focus to elements on the perimeter of the track. 

The video documents a solo psychedelic excursion across a remote island in Northern Ontario, captured on 8 mm film by Chavin Martel during the summer of 2018. The footage lay dormant until 2020, when it was edited to be released alongside Dripping
