A couple of weeks ago in Vancouver my dj bag which included: laptop, hard drive, wallet, car/house keys, & most importantly my PASSPORT got stolen.. which put me in the most devastating & heartbroken mood. I had no choice but to stay in Canada for 3 days until the US embassy opened for me to get a temporary passport. 


Anyway this isn't a sob story this is more of a motivational story... 4 days later I had to play LA for party favors show and I just kept telling myself "I need to get it together asap so stop crying." The minute I got my temporary passport I rushed to the airport, landed at LAX, hopped my little ass in my jeep, drove to the nearest Best Buy @ El Segundo, bought a laptop and hardrive with whatever settlement vancouver paid me lmfao (Bc my wallet and cards got stolen), rushed to an interview at in n out, drove home. IMMEDIATELY STARTED DOWNLOADING MUSIC, had to sync whatever music I had backed up on my desktop computer/old hard drives, all week I was scrambling meeting up with my dj/producer homies to swap music, downloading & listening to everything I could. And honestly when I finished that set at the Fonda I like legitimately collapsed on my knees in my green room and like soaked it all in Bc I couldn't believe what I had gone through to do my first electronic set in front of 2000 kids. Idk man, it was a very surreal moment because I felt like god was testing me, and I had succeeded somehow. So all & all it was a blessing in disguise to remind myself how fucking blessed I am to have even been able to pull that shit off in 5 days. Let alone, realize it was just materialistic shit... that's always replaceable.

For Octobers session of About To Blow Radio, we’re shifting the focus and casting an eye over two of our favourite artists who have been making waves in their respective circles for a minute now. 

First up we’re joined in the studio and shining a light on our long-time friend and the very talented rapper Thai Mason. For years now, we’ve enjoyed following the progression of this Birmingham artist who’s been steadily bubbling under largely due to his unique flow and delivery underpinned by collaborations with the likes of El Train, Bearcubs and Karma Kid to date. Listen as we discuss his creative process, inspirations, music video and what’s to come.

Moving into the second house it gives us great pleasure to welcome talented Dutch producer and multi-instrumentalist Wantigga on to the show. Having first come across his sound via his unforgettable rework of the Musiq Soulchild classic ‘Just Friends’ back in 2014, the producer has become a household name in his native Holland thanks to his ability to tear down clubs with his high-octane DJ sets and productions to match.

As always, shouts to everyone showing love to the show and to Wantigga for an absolutely supreme mix of house, hip-hop, bass, bass, beats and all-round vibes - showing us what to expect when he headlines KLEAR at Koko on Friday November 24th.

Starting the show with a brand new one from the ever dependable @xvromar, keep an ear out for fresh selections from @thecoolkids, @planet-giza, @brentfaiyaz, @mxxwllofficial and the homie @jemaque, amongst others.
