Canadian label Multi Culti founded in 2013 by Montreal's Thomas Von Party and Sydney producer Dreems, which caught our attention last year with a brilliant EP by Tel Aviv duo Red Axes, is in the process of releasing a compilation split across six EPs, divided into two themes : "Sun Gaze", which "pulls in warm, ethnically diverse tracks" from Nicola Cruz, Zongamin and Moscoman, and "Moon Faze", where "things get darker and trippier" with Dreems, LUM and Crowdpleaser. "Sun Gaze I" is already out, and today we give you a taster of "Moon Faze I" : Dreems' "Sine O The Tymes" (get the reference?) is a spooky downtempo number which somehow manages to join the dots between balearic and techno, with some live percussions, progressive acid synths and strange electronic noises all over. Out next week, tip !

Last winter solstice I released my last EP “Bundok” (mountain) and announced that I would be releasing a new EP every solstice and equinox. I’m happy to announce that my Spring EP “Island Blooms” is here! 
In this 3 track EP you’ll find: metallic gong sounds of the Philippine kulintang layered over afrobeat, moombahton and cumbia. Brazilian baile funk patterns remixed with rhythms that came from my hands/heart/ancestors. Moombahsoul, jazzy chords and funky breaks with a healthy dose of assorted percussion and a hint of vocal. Flavors of the world that somehow found their way to my shore and that I reflected back through my Northeast Los Angeles, Filipina-American style.

Often writing music whilst crossing continents, French producer, musician and DJ iZem found a new home in Lisbon, Portugal. After moving to the Portuguese capital five years ago, a period during which he released his 2016 album ‘Hafa’ on Soundway, the nomadic artist dove headfirst into the city’s exciting global club scene and started working on bringing his signature soulful and vocal vibe to the club dance floor, and the result is his Enchufada debut release ‘Beni Lane EP’. 

Expertly introducing afro-house and heavier percussive elements to his jazzy and hip-hop inflected approach to global sounds, ‘Beni Lane EP’ opens up a new chapter in iZem’s prolific music output with its upbeat and dance floor-focused vibe, while still maintaining his organic and melodic approach to music firmly intact. This is the direct by-product of iZem’s deep dive into the Lisbon music scene, as the syncopated beats that blast loudly from the city’s clubs and streets further contribute to shaping his unique musical personality. From Major Stef’s collage of jazz drum solos to vocal-lead Frikii (feat. Fehdah), where he reworks a vocal from his debut album to fit big room dance floors at 3am, Shebeen Chic’s bass music and dub influenced breaks, to the titular Beni Lane’s colourful celebration of Lisbon’s pulsating and syncopated beats, iZem has established himself as a unique and vital voice in the global club music scene.

‘Beni Lane EP’ follows the release of a single to become his first proper release on Enchufada, as iZem continues his ongoing exploration of the global club sounds of his new home.

“El sonido de Caballito refleja el calor, la alegría, las raíces, las ganas de mover el culo, el sudor, la buena onda...”
Caballito da a luz en una cálida Granada en septiembre de 2010, fruto del reencuentro entre Bigote y Grita, dos auténticos exploradores y recicladores de los ritmos latinoamericanos.
Pioneros en nuestro país en esta corriente ElecTropical que poco a poco va invadiendo todo el globo, empiezan sus andadas publicando varias mixtapes en su propia web y en distintos blogs del subterráneo movimiento. Pronto decidirían ilustrar sus mezclas con una explosión de gifs animados, vídeos y colores estridentes y muy chillones (creados por ellos, son también apasionados de la imagen), creando así un entorno psicodélico, divertido y uniforme. Fue entonces cuando Grita y Bigote decidieron lanzarse a la producción estableciendo su propio netlabel, siguiendo la línea de la licencia libre (Creative Commons). De esta forma, todo lo publicado en Caballito, ya sean producciones suyas o de otros artistas, fluye libremente por la red.

Caballito is born in Granada, in September 2010, when Daniel aka Bigote and David aka Grita meet again. It was a while since these two guys were checking out traditional Latino-American rhythms and discovering the Digital Cumbia, new Tropical style emerging all around the world.
Caballito, pioneer in our Country within this musical current, started publishing mixtapes in his own web and in different blogs, with the intention of breaking our hips. But quickly this world was too small for them, so they started to flood us with videos and psychedelic gifs. Was at that time when Grita y Bigote jumped into production creating their own netlabel, whose phylosophy follow the free licence idea. All the stuff published - their own productions and the collaborators’ ones - all flow freely through the web.
