Couvre x Chefs is delighted to present Lofoten, the debut EP from Næja (@naejaa), a member of the collective and label since 2019.

After making his first appearance on CxC Vol. 2 in 2022, an eccentric Dubstep remix for anyoneID in 2023, and DJ sets packed with unreleased tracks, the Parisian DJ and producer finally unveiled his first solo release.

Comprising 3 original tracks and a remix of the same anyoneID, Lofoten sweeps through the rich sonic aesthetic of its author. Somewhere between Deconstructed Club Music, Dubstep, Hardcore Continuum and futuristic sound design, the EP takes us into Næja’s dark, hybrid club universe. Sometimes minimalist (Lofoten, Quantum), sometimes maximalist (Trance Gener8), the tracks shine through their meticulous arrangements, giving this first EP consistency, originality and solidity.

B E N N is a Taipei-based producer, DJ, founder of avant garde club label Over My Body. His presence spans across continents with his symbolic explosive energy and ability to ignite the dancefloor have made him a focal point in various scenes around the continents. His production attempted to reach out the diverse dimensions, with unique sounds blending into different asian vibes with broken beats. Over the past years B E N N has released several EPs and participated in many compilations from different labels, each showing an evolution of technique.

Ismail Lazam (ISMA) es un productor y DJ parisino. En 2015, debutó con su primer EP "Landscape" en el sello Jihelcee Records, un trabajo ambient y downtempo que sentó las bases de su estilo introspectivo. Cuatro años después, en 2019, lanzó "HEALTH" en Cascade Records, un proyecto colaborativo aclamado por la crítica en Francia (ID-Vice, Radio Nova, Libération, Mixmag, entre otros), en el que explora sus raíces iraquíes y fusiona influencias de trip-hop, música electrónica y hip-hop.

ISMA también se dio a conocer como productor para TRIPLEGO, con quien mantiene una colaboración muy prolífica desde 2019 hasta la fecha, creando temas como Feen Kenou, Bou7di, Medellin, Panama, Baisers Volés, Moscou, Tu Parles, Chebba, Maghrebiya, Pure, Life, Humilité, Stone, Eau Revoir y 911.

En 2021, se asoció con la cantante VARNRABLE para el EP "Please Throw a Stone Through My Window", una obra moderna que mezcla R&B, soul y pop. Este proyecto resalta la química artística entre los dos músicos, la cual se fue revelando a lo largo de su colaboración durante el periodo de confinamiento.

En 2022 y 2023, ISMA inicia un nuevo capítulo con el sello KRUMPP MUSIC, marcando su emancipación musical con varios proyectos instrumentales (HOSTA, Room 212 / 18.09, CHICANE, NIGHT SHIFT), caracterizados por sonoridades electrónicas oscuras y lentas, lo que confirma su evolución hacia un estilo más personal e introspectivo.

En 2024, firma la banda sonora completa del muy aclamado Pavillon Français de la Biennale de Venise para el artista plástico JULIEN CREUZET.

También en 2024, produce dos piezas sonoras para el artista plástico OMAR CASTILLO para una instalación en el Centro Pompidou Metz y una performance en el Pompidou de París.

A principios de 2025, ISMA lanza su primer álbum MIRAGE, que marca el final de un ciclo de creación de casi tres años, con un proyecto ambient y ligero muy influenciado por las pruebas personales que ISMA enfrentó durante ese período.

El año 2025 marca un giro importante en la evolución musical de ISMA. Después de un lanzamiento destacado en el sello mexicano HYPERSONICS, con el EP Club Sentimental donde desarrolla piezas más radicales y diseñadas para el club, pero manteniendo su estilo único, ISMA se prepara ahora para lanzar un nuevo EP de 2 temas titulado RODEO a través del sello español CABALLITO, compuesto por 2 tracks uptempo también hechos para el club.

Caballito da a luz en una cálida Granada en septiembre de 2010, fruto del reencuentro entre Bigote y Grita, dos auténticos exploradores y recicladores de los ritmos latinoamericanos.
Pioneros en nuestro país en esta corriente ElecTropical que poco a poco va invadiendo todo el globo, empiezan sus andadas publicando varias mixtapes en su propia web y en distintos blogs del subterráneo movimiento. Pronto decidirían ilustrar sus mezclas con una explosión de gifs animados, vídeos y colores estridentes y muy chillones (creados por ellos, son también apasionados de la imagen), creando así un entorno psicodélico, divertido y uniforme. Fue entonces cuando Grita y Bigote decidieron lanzarse a la producción estableciendo su propio netlabel, siguiendo la línea de la licencia libre (Creative Commons). De esta forma, todo lo publicado en Caballito, ya sean producciones suyas o de otros artistas, fluye libremente por la red.

Caballito is born in Granada, in September 2010, when Daniel aka Bigote and David aka Grita meet again. It was a while since these two guys were checking out traditional Latino-American rhythms and discovering the Digital Cumbia, new Tropical style emerging all around the world.
Caballito, pioneer in our Country within this musical current, started publishing mixtapes in his own web and in different blogs, with the intention of breaking our hips. But quickly this world was too small for them, so they started to flood us with videos and psychedelic gifs. Was at that time when Grita y Bigote jumped into production creating their own netlabel, whose phylosophy follow the free licence idea. All the stuff published - their own productions and the collaborators’ ones - all flow freely through the web.
