Irrealidades is the new album from Mexican scene stalwart Bryan Dálvez, El Irreal Veintiuno on Infinite Machine. Although his reputation is well-established at home through EPs and tracks on NAAFI, Subreal and Infinite Machine itself, Irrealidades comes across as his boldest and most cohesive statement yet.

The album is a kaleidoscopic survey of Mexico’s rich sonic landscape, as well as an ambitious attempt to encompass the country’s historical becoming: from the rich, imagined sounds of pre-hispanic times to its current war-torn reality.

But an academic pursuit this isn’t and this is still very much music for the body. From the get-go, drums burn and rhythms gallop; sharp, aggressive synths insist and prod. Un respiro, the album’s mid-point gives us exactly that, a breather, albeit an emotionally charged one. Soon enough the second half of the record returns to polyrhythmic fury and ravey turbulence. We reach fever pitch on closer Minorías, envisioned by Bryan as a sonic representation of the eschaton: “the last track is merely the end of everything”.

Throughout the record disjointed voices loop endlessly before managing to articulate a single intelligible word. Maybe, Irrealidades seems to say, we are also caught in a loop, unable to break out from the cycle of violence and marching irredeemably (but with healthy curiosity) into The End, when Quetzalcóatl makes his glorious return.

En el 2018, bajo la estrategia del caracol que recolecta saberes y espera paciente su momento, iniciamos el catálogo de este netlabel.
Lo hicimos a través de su material fundacional: Esquirlas; un primer compilado que acogía los nombres de aquellos productores de la diáspora Sudamericana que traían consigo la frescura de un sonido emergente, y la energía de una escena revivida a nuevo. Productores que al igual que nosotrxs, también respondían a esa columna del underclub latino, como células de una red de afectos. 
A ellos, les atribuimos un punto de partida: Producir tracks que evoquen sus primeras aproximaciones al ritmo, que reconstruyan un paisaje sonoro, un recuerdo sensorial que haya quedado impreso en su memoria: el estruendo de una fiesta en la calle, el trinar de un pájaro en el río, el pregón de un vendedor ambulante. 
Cinco años después, nos volvemos a reunir bajo esta misma premisa. Muchas cosas han cambiado en nuestros escenarios, y los agenciamientos que fuimos cosechando en resistencia, esta vez se fructifican en sonidos nuevos; rotos, hinchados o descompuestos, como hongos de Marosa, dan lugar a nuevas producciones de sentido. A estos clubes y productores nuevos les damos la bienvenida a este Esquirlas 2. 
A ellos, las gracias por haber participado y por estar haciendo lo que nosotrxs hicimos hace diez años. Y a quiénes hacen las pistas de baile con sus pasos, nuestro máximo respeto.

Que la memoria siempre perdure incluso en lo efímero de la pista de baile.

In the 2018, under the  strategy of the snail that  collects knowledge and  waits patiently for its  moment, we started this  netlabel’s catalogue. We did  it through its foundational  material: Esquirlas; a first  compiled that welcomed  the name of those producers from the  
South American diaspora  who brought with them the  freshness of an emerging  sound, and the energy of  a completely reborn scene.  Producers who, like us, also  respond to the Latin underclub movement, like  cells in a network of  affection. 
To them, we attribute a  starting point: Produce tracks that evokes  your first approaches to  rhythm, that reconstruct a  sound landscape, a sensory  memory that has been  imprinted in your memory:  the roar of a Street party,  the sound of the rain drops  on the zinc roof, the trill of  a bird in the river, the  proclamation of a street  vendor. 
Five years later, we congregate again under this same  premise. Many things have  changed on our stages,  and the assemblages that  
we harvested in resistance,  this time enriched of new  sounds; broken, swollen or  decomposed, like Marosa  mushrooms, give place to  new productions of  meaning. 
To these new clubs and  producer we welcomed to Esquirlas 2.  We thank them for having  participated and for doing  what we did ten years ago.  
And to those who make  the dancefloors with their  steps, our utmost respect.  

May the memory always last  even in the ephemerality of  the 
dancefloor.

Caballito da a luz en una cálida Granada en septiembre de 2010, fruto del reencuentro entre Bigote y Grita, dos auténticos exploradores y recicladores de los ritmos latinoamericanos.
Pioneros en nuestro país en esta corriente ElecTropical que poco a poco va invadiendo todo el globo, empiezan sus andadas publicando varias mixtapes en su propia web y en distintos blogs del subterráneo movimiento. Pronto decidirían ilustrar sus mezclas con una explosión de gifs animados, vídeos y colores estridentes y muy chillones (creados por ellos, son también apasionados de la imagen), creando así un entorno psicodélico, divertido y uniforme. Fue entonces cuando Grita y Bigote decidieron lanzarse a la producción estableciendo su propio netlabel, siguiendo la línea de la licencia libre (Creative Commons). De esta forma, todo lo publicado en Caballito, ya sean producciones suyas o de otros artistas, fluye libremente por la red.

Caballito is born in Granada, in September 2010, when Daniel aka Bigote and David aka Grita meet again. It was a while since these two guys were checking out traditional Latino-American rhythms and discovering the Digital Cumbia, new Tropical style emerging all around the world.
Caballito, pioneer in our Country within this musical current, started publishing mixtapes in his own web and in different blogs, with the intention of breaking our hips. But quickly this world was too small for them, so they started to flood us with videos and psychedelic gifs. Was at that time when Grita y Bigote jumped into production creating their own netlabel, whose phylosophy follow the free licence idea. All the stuff published - their own productions and the collaborators’ ones - all flow freely through the web.
