TUMBO is our production debut, and explores rhythms and genres that we grew up listening and dancing to. With its four percussive tracks, the EP takes elements from reggaeton, colombian guaracha, brazilian funk and venezuelan gaita, and includes samples that represent some of our biggest musical inspirations and aspirations. For us, the making of this EP was about collaborating, having fun and beginning to understand our own sound and process. We’re excited to share it, and to keep exploring.

TUMBO, nuestro primer EP, explora ritmos y géneros musicales con los que crecimos e incorpora elementos de reggaeton, dembow, guaracha, baile funk y gaita zuliana, y samples que representan algunas de nuestras principales inspiraciones y aspiraciones musicales. Hacer este EP fue una oportunidad para colaborar, divertirnos y empezar a entender nuestro propio sonido y proceso creativo. Nos emociona mucho compartirlo y seguir explorando.

ANA LUISA is a Toronto-based DJ and producer from Caracas, Venezuela. She co-produces parties Veneno and Cuarenteca, and hosts Dimensión Ideal on ISO Radio. 

Seb is a Toronto-based artist, writer and producer from Caracas, Venezuela.

Solomas is a long time friend/acquittance of PARDON and there’s a great chance you’re not familiar with his name yet, since he’s been active under a dozen different aliases over the years.   The producers’ fascination for bootleg culture is clear on ‘Smile and Join’. A deep-rooted love for reggaeton and contemporary club music, results in his productions sounding like they could easily have been plucked from a mystery white-label or freshly bounced from his studio yesterday.

‘Smile and Join’ opens with beefed-up breaks and precision placed layers of percussion adding bone-shaking movement. The track delves into a cinematic build-up with synth lines drenched in reverb whilst breaks echo in and out of the soundscape.

For the first release of the year, Manchester-based imprint Club Romantico is set to team up with Manuka Honey for her label debut. The two-track release ‘Machete/777’ is set to release on the 3rd of March and includes collaborations with label founder Florentino and La Favi. 

Born out of a breakup, the release captures the feeling of revenge and the rage of women as Manuka Honey reclaims the tropes of Latina women being sexualised and vilified as aggressive. "It’s a reflection on revenge and protection. The ways they go hand in hand, and how catharsis can manifest sonically. Rage is the haunting yet clear emotion that ties these tracks together,” says Manuka Honey. ‘Machete’, in collaboration with Florentino, sees Manuka Honey use her voice for the first time. On the flip, ‘777’ is a dramatic team up with Latin Grammy award winner La Favi. 

‘Machete/777’ is the beginning of a busy year for Manuka Honey who will be embarking on a Machete tour from the 23rd February, traveling across Asia, before a string of summer festival dates including REWIRE, Sonar and Melt Festival.

Caballito da a luz en una cálida Granada en septiembre de 2010, fruto del reencuentro entre Bigote y Grita, dos auténticos exploradores y recicladores de los ritmos latinoamericanos.
Pioneros en nuestro país en esta corriente ElecTropical que poco a poco va invadiendo todo el globo, empiezan sus andadas publicando varias mixtapes en su propia web y en distintos blogs del subterráneo movimiento. Pronto decidirían ilustrar sus mezclas con una explosión de gifs animados, vídeos y colores estridentes y muy chillones (creados por ellos, son también apasionados de la imagen), creando así un entorno psicodélico, divertido y uniforme. Fue entonces cuando Grita y Bigote decidieron lanzarse a la producción estableciendo su propio netlabel, siguiendo la línea de la licencia libre (Creative Commons). De esta forma, todo lo publicado en Caballito, ya sean producciones suyas o de otros artistas, fluye libremente por la red.

Caballito is born in Granada, in September 2010, when Daniel aka Bigote and David aka Grita meet again. It was a while since these two guys were checking out traditional Latino-American rhythms and discovering the Digital Cumbia, new Tropical style emerging all around the world.
Caballito, pioneer in our Country within this musical current, started publishing mixtapes in his own web and in different blogs, with the intention of breaking our hips. But quickly this world was too small for them, so they started to flood us with videos and psychedelic gifs. Was at that time when Grita y Bigote jumped into production creating their own netlabel, whose phylosophy follow the free licence idea. All the stuff published - their own productions and the collaborators’ ones - all flow freely through the web.
