I made this track over the summer period this year and tested it in the clubs a few times, changed a couple of things but wasn't 100% happy with it for a long time until the day (late summer) when i completely changed the baseline on the track and then it all suddenly clicked, made sense and sounded good to me.
I sent it to my good friend Daley Padley aka Hot Since 82 as the first person once it was finished. I felt this vibe would be something he would like and i was right......he signed it right away for his Knee Deep In Sound label.

'Social Glue' is more eerie than you'd expect from Davide. He uses mystical synths to kick things off before a menacing and rugged bassline comes storming in. 

Add in some energetic hi-hats, enigmatic builds and wall-shaking drops and you're left with a track that will do as damage in your living room as it would the White Isle.

With another stellar year under her belt, Anja Schneider is hitting 2016 in inspired form. A new year means a fresh sound for the Berliner, who is diving deep into her record collection to draw inspiration from a variable palette of sounds from across the years. 

The accomplished three tracker kicks off with ‘Soul Traveler’, a rich jazzy vocal-led techno cut that shakes with Schneider’s unmistakable groove. Deeply nuanced and analogue-driven, ‘Vintage’ mixes up low humming bass, multi-layered drums and melodic chords for a beautiful deep techno offering. ‘Bay Side’ drips with atmosphere and is the artist’s brilliant twist on tech funk, driven by punchy keys, intricate drums and cascading synth hook that builds the tempo towards a satisfying dancefloor-ready crescendo.

Anja Schneider’s ‘Soul Traveller’ EP is her first collaboration with producer and engineer Jan-Eric from Autotune.

Released in March, the four track offering included a remix from Eagles & Butterflies and reached #1 in Beatport's Electronica and Progressive House charts, while peaking at #4 in their overall Top 100. As a thank you for the amazing support we received on the release Brian has crafted a dark and mystical dance floor journey to give back to the fans. In the words of Brian, "Tempestad which means storm in Spanish, is an energetic cut that explores the deeper side of techno. A somewhat stripped down record that evolves into a heavy groove. A short dramatic story inspired by today’s quick changes, either positive or negative, always drastic, like a storm."

Tripmastaz AKA Andrew Guyvoronsky debuts for Cadenza Lab with the ‘Blossomz’ single; a trio of heady club cuts that typifies his hypnotising house sound and knack for the perfect groove. 

Originating from Moscow’s music scene, and slowly emerging as one of the more renowned Russian producers to influence global labels, Andrew has released music for Richie Hawtin’s Minus imprint, DJ Sneak’s own Magnetic Records, as well as other appearances on Cécille Records, Desolat and Shanti, all proving fantastic platforms for his minimal sound and guided musical expressions. 

Aside from his productions, Tripmastaz who runs his own label, 74 Records, has also held a residency at the impressive rooftop party Techno Gipsy since 2013, a further accreditation to his career as a Producer and DJ. With an illustrious remix career to match, collaborations with DJ Sneak have pushed him toward close affiliations with the House Gangster Movement and the funky side of house music so clearly important to his work. 

Lead track, ‘Blossomz’, opts for a captivating percussive groove, whilst vocal samples are put through the wormhole to create rhythmic effects; fans of Mountain People/Sasha Dive will lap up this vibe for sure.  ‘Sublimely Relieved (Cuban Linx)’ raises the energy level somewhat; a snaking bassline slithers around the crisp drum pattern seductively, as light keys sprinkle over the dubby house sound.  A ‘Bass Dub’ is also offered up, offering an alternate take to round off the release with added weight.

In their home country South Africa they made it to #1 with their album ‘Ya Badimo’, which also achieved gold record sales at the end of 2016. For these reasons and more, Defected is very proud to be releasing Black Motion’s ‘Rainbow’ on the label, a breath-taking vocal house record that really is one of a kind, featuring the gorgeous voice of a frequent collaborator of theirs, Xoli M. The record is joined by another single called ‘It’s You’ featuring Miss P, an equally stunning vocal house track that’s beautifully warm and harmonised perfectly. Black Motion’s unique energy comes to life through both productions. Making up the EP are two versions of ‘Rainbow’ by house heroes DJ Spen & Michele Chiavarini, injecting a more direct ‘house’ attitude with 4/4 beats and synths. Only a master like Spen could be trusted to reinvent an untouchable track like this with such blinding results.
